Is there a weapon or armor property that will damage the weapon to absorb a crit?

I think there's a feat that you can break your armor and avoid the crit...can't find the feat.

Is there a weapon or armor property that you can add to a weapon or piece of armor to absorb a crit?

Don't know about any item properties, but the feat you're thinking of is Fortified Armor Training, from UC.

Try combining it with Jury-Rig spell, also from UC.

Other than Fortification and Disposable Weapon I don't think so.

Yeah Fortified Armor Training.

Would love to be able to add this to a shield or piece of armor some how.

If there's nothing then I'll look at creating a custom weapon property or spell.
