Samsarans and the reincarnate spell

The description for the Samsaran race says that after they die they usually reincarnate as a Samsaran child. I'm wondering if this should affect the outcome of having a reincarnate spell cast on a Samsaran.

You know, normally the race you get from the reincarnate spell is randomized and is always a young adult rather than a child. I'm assuming that the reincarnate spell should always generate a young adult, but would a reincarnated Samsaran generally reincarnate as his previous race? Or should the spell's randomization take precedence?

This question came up when I was trying to give a friend suggestions for his Samsaran Druid. I was thinking that using the 'Reincarnated Druid' archetype would be very flavorful, but if his reincarnation ability won't bring him back as a Samsaran it kind of breaks the flavor. Though, I guess some would argue that taking away the random element from reincarnate would make the spell too good for its level.

Just in case anyone was actually wondering: James Jacobs says that the reincarnate spell works normally on Samsarans.

The description sez that "Samsarans can give birth yet they do not give birth to Samsarans-instead they give birth to human children." So to whom are Samsarans born?

I didn't catch it from the description either, but James Jacobs has explained that they just sort of pop into existence in the wilderness, usually as young teenagers, but occasionally younger or older.

Ah. Cabbage Patch Kids.

Liberty's Edge

I think they should reincarnate as Samsaran for a couple of reasons:

a) they are a race with an increase in 2 mental stats and a decrease in a physical one. when you are reincarnated you keep your original mental stats, with the racial and age modifier, while your physical stats get the modifiers of a adult specimen of your new race. It is a relatively cheap way to get a +2 to +4 increase physical stats. Not game breaking but annoying (a Samsaran/Dwarf would be +2 constitution, +2 intelligence, +2 wisdom, with a net increase of 4 points of constitution when compared to the old Samsaran body).

b) I would consider Samsaran magic and Shards of the past mental abilities, so the character will retain them . Again a slight increase in power it the new race abilities are physically based.

They aren't game breaking problems, but some player will try to game them.

A note about Reincarnated Druid and Samsaran. I see the Reincarnated Druid as someone that should and will learn all the facets of nature, so he reincarnate in different forms every time he is reborn. Returning every time as the same race will be the opposite of this kind of idea.
It is my vision of the fluff of the archetype, but I feel that the Samsaran and Reincarnated Druid don't mix well together.
