I have just devoured the Goblin Works blog and I have to say Pathfinder Online looks like a very exciting project. Honestly, if an MMO developer crawled inside my head and stole my ideas for the perfect MMO, it would look a lot like whats being worked on here. From the people working on the project, to the franchise, to the development and business plan, it's all very impressive. I hope there are investors out there who understand the potential.
I only caught the tale end of the development for the Pathfinder RPG, so it's nice to be here at this early stage. For those who might be interested in how I heard about it, this is how I got here: I missed the Pathfinder MMO license email, although I've found it now (doh!) Yesterday I followed a link on Google+ to a blog (Charisma Bonus), and there was a post on Pathfinder Online's development. And here I am.
My tabletop gaming history goes back to D&D, lots of AD&D then a move to video games (my father worked for a UK video game retailer). For the most part I've kept up with the developments of the RPG world but when I played Ultima Online I knew I'd found something I was passionate about. The games that have most impressed me most were Ultima Online, SWG and WoW. My recent disappointment with SWTOR surprised me. I knew it was going to be a themepark game by Bioware, I knew it. I just thought they would have done more environmentally, socially etc etc. But it was bare bones on that front.
I'm interested in many of the different aspects of MMO's and like everyone else I'm bursting with ideas! I'll try to add them to existing threads, although lots of good stuff has been covered already.
Hi everyone!

Welcome!
I was also disappointed in SWTOR, even though I fully expected it to be "on rails". Every time I take a character through Taris, I find it strangely funny and sad that there are actual rails in-game that lead right up to the Monstrous Rakghoul, or whatever it is in the cave system that opens up to the Taris Archive Vault.
I also totally understand that feeling that this is the MMO I've been designing in my head for 25 years. I am unbelievably excited.
You picked a good day, since there is supposed to a new blog post later today.

welcome. im fairly new here myself but the blogs have me sold that this is a game worth watching. I cant say i was dissapointed in swtor, no more than ive been with any other game to come out in the last 5 or 6 years. but for now ill be playing swtor while i wait to hear more about pathfinder and copernicus from 38 studios. so far ive enjoyed reading those blogs alot about the systems they want in game, just hope they stick to that.

Sorry, so, Copernicus is the MMO set in the Kingdoms of Amalur Setting?

@Ashenfall, check out the Get Rid of the Trinity Roles thread.
Lots of good discussion in there, and Ryan Dancey stated outright that they'll be doing everything they can to avoid the feedback loop that resulted in the Tank/Healer/DPS trinity in WoW and other MMOs.
