Note: Thread Title Reference Video
I have created a new script/extension for the Paizo messageboards called Gargamel.
It removes certain blue avatars and replaces them with the author's original avatar.
In order to use this script/extension, you must be running Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
Mozilla Firefox (Notes)
If you have Firefox, you will need to install the Greasemonkey Plug-In before you will be able to use the script.
Installation
Both Firefox and Chrome use the same script/extension. Click the link to the script and you should be prompted to install it.
Usage
Install the script/extension. Browse the messageboards. Notice the lack of certain blue avatars.
General Notes
If the author does not have an original avatar, the certain blue replacement avatar will remain! (Gargamel never catches them all, despite his best efforts.)

Hilarious! I can't tell at the moment, does it handle the best smurf of all?

of course now the web crew will be finding a way to counter Gargamel
(bonus if it grabs random Hank Azaria pics from the net)
Oh no, the web crew has much better things to do than break some random third-party script. Have you seen the wish list? It's miles long...
However, if the web crew was so inclined, they could turn gargamel into a weapon of smurf destruction:
1. The script loads the original avatar from the author's profile page. However, it does so in a completely dumb way. By adding a simple HTML comment near the top like:
<!--
<td align = "right" width = "90" valign = "middle">
<img src="/path/to/random/smurf/avatar.gif" />
-->
This would trick the routine into loading a smurf avatar instead of a real avatar. So, on its own, this would cause smurfs to be replaced by other smurfs (negating the script). However, even more insidious would be...
2. The script triggers on the presence of the word "smurf" in the <img> tag of the avatar. So by adding a spurious attribute like id="386754smurf89767" it wouldn't affect the page, but would cause the script to trigger even on avatars that weren't smurfs.
Combined, it would mean that every user running the gargamel script would see *only* smurf avatars...
... and a special exception could be made to KC's profile page to always provide a very special smurf.
Good thing the web crew is so busy they have absolutely no time to implement any of this. :-)

Wait. What's with the whole smurf thing? Why do we need a script to get rid of smurfs?
...Why am I a smurf?
I do the same thing Paizo does.
I read the messageboards and look for things that people want.Then I do my best to create them.

first hit when you do a paizo search for the word and select "search on messageboards"
Sorry—what word are you taking about?
