Especially for Flowing Monks? Thanks for any tips!
Whirlwind is only worth it, IMO, if you can Enlarge yourself with a reach-weapon or you have some way of compelling enemies to engage you in melee.
Otherwise you simply lack enough opportunities to justify the feat cost.
(Whirlwind is actually most beneficial to characters with the least number of total attacks, because they gain the most from it percentage-wise; whereas you as a monk can throw shurikens as part of your Flurry.)

You would need to have many more opponents within melee range than attacks you can make while flurrying - because you have a lower chance to hit with each attack, so you'll need more attacks to make it worth using Whirlwind instead of flurry. As you gain levels and thus attacks, you'll need to gather MORE enemies within melee range to make Whirlwind attack worth it. It's a pretty heavy investment in feats to gain an attack that in general gets less useful as you level.
