A player of mine wants to combine the Divine Hunter and the Holy Gun archetypes, but I wasn't sure if it was possible, since they both modify the Divine Bond class feature.
I'm thinking it's not possible, but I wasn't 100% sure, so I told him I'd check. Which is why I'm here, looking for a second opinion.

I would say you are right. Just because both archetypes alter the bond in a similar way doesn't mean they can suddenly stack. It would be a bit like two archetypes that both give up a proficiency or something.
Tell your player to just go Divine Hunter. Holy Gun is... not great, regardless of other issues.

So I know this is late but I figure this may benefit someone else that has this question. There are three abilities that interfere with each other. The first is the armor proficiency. Divine Hunter requires you to have heavy armor proficiency so that it can be replaced with Precise Shot while Holy Gun only gives you light armor proficiency. The next one is, as you mentioned, the Divine Bond, which in my opinion can be overlooked as they both do the same thing. If you feel like these two aren't that big of an issue, unfortunately it's the third one that really puts the brakes on this cool idea. The problem happens when a Divine Hunter reaches level 11 and gains Hunter's Blessing. This ability requires the use of smite evil; however, smite evil is replaced by the Smiting Shot deed.
