I can't find that faq.
But Wild Shape Specifically states:
Her options for new forms include all creatures with the animal type.
I submit that animal companions are animals and as such would qualify.
P.S. I would also like to point out that the FAQ that he copies speaks towards applying templates to animals and does not mention animal companions. There are several reasons for this. Perhaps whomever wrote that response did not consider ACs. Perhaps they didn't consider them because they assumed they were not applicable when they are. Perhaps they forgot about them. Perhaps they didn't consider it because ACs shouldn't be used.

"Tiger" is a creature with the animal type.
So you can turn into a tiger.
But you can't turn into a specific tiger. You can't turn into albino tiger, or a baby tiger, or an animal-companion tiger. You can only turn into the standard tiger from the bestiary.
(That, at least, is the intent, as far as I can tell. It is really hard to demonstrate this from the rules.)

That's because it's impossible to prove a negative.
Actually, you can; it's just harder.
Fermat's Last Theorem was a negative (no three positive integers can satisfy the equation an + bn = cn for any integer value of n greater than 2) and that was proved - after mathematicians worked on the problem for 356 years.
If the rules or FAQs said, "You can only turn into normal Bestiary animals, not variants such as animal companions, or unusually sized versions of the creature," people wouldn't be arguing over this after six years.

Wizard: "OK, you summon the t-rex and I'll use the scroll of Magic Jar to transfer my soul to its body."
Druid: "OK, but I get to ride on your back. Summon Nature's Ally!"
<Pof!>
Wizard: "Magic Jar!"
Druid: "Did it work?"
Wizardsaurus: "RAR!"
Druid: "Hey, what happens to your soul when the summoning duration wears off?"
Wizardsaurus: "RAR?"
<Fop!>
Druid: "Hello?"

Hmmm...the Possession Inquisition would do it. At 4th they get "beast ride" which allows temporary possession of creatures of the animal type.
Hmm, can the Nature Priest (or other druid) obtain Inquisitions? Or can the cleric gain access to Summon Nature's Ally 7 to summon a t-rex?
EDIT: The Saurian subdomain (Scalykind Domain) obtains the spell as a domain ability and is specially able to summon a t-rex. A normal cleric should be able to take the Inquisition and the domain, though I'm not sure if you can find a matching deity. A Seperatist Cleric may be required.
