Metro DC (Woodbridge VA): Looking for a PF game.

Gamer Connection

Two players looking for a game relatively close to Woodbridge VA. We were introduced to PF by a friend who invited us to a game and never showed up. Suffice it to say, there was a clash of play styles between us and referee and its just too far to drive. . . . so we are looking for a new game.

We never did finish Falcon Hallow and would like to do so. Not really into constant dungeon crawls and expectations of min / maxed characters. For instance, I like to take prisoners and turn them over the authorities or try to turn them as an ally. That demands some roleplaying and agreement within the party.

Plus
We both have many years of experience playing AD&D (as in First Edition), GURPS, Champions, Dark Conspiracy, and even Ardruin Grimoire variants . . . I remember when Ed Greenwood first published Forgotten Realms in Dragon Magazine.

Minus
We are new Pathfinder and sometimes don't understand all this flanking business in combat. We miss our THACO . . . . and since when did ACs become positve? Heresy!

Plus
We bought the Reading Table from the local Border's Bookstore this summer. It is 4' x 10' and can easily seat a party of 8 gamers and a DM, the battle mat, and have enough room left for whatever you want to lay out: food, books, a human sacrifice. Really, its the size of a plinth from a rock henge. If there was sufficient interest, we might be induced to move more quickly on the Library refurbishment . . . there is even a functioning fire place!

So, if you are interested and live in Northern VA, send a message.

The Exchange

Woodbridge... doof, the part I would hate is driving up and down 95 from Alexandria. Almost every time I get on it there's been nasty traffic.

I'm starting a Kingmaker campaign on Sundays, about 40-45 minutes from you. If that's too much of a drive and you're interested, let me know.

I have to admit the traffic on 95 is why I am looking for a game closer to Woodbridge. . . .

giving this a bump . . . I am writing a story arc in the old Forgotten Realms campaign that I used to run years ago. I am going to advance it maybe 80 years or so. The history timeline diverges from FR products after the Time of Troubles, for all the Realmsophiles.

The city is of my own invention, built on an Athens style democracy and Roman evolutions. The general bent of the society is LN(G). It has a Foriegn Quarter. You can be most classes in the CR or APG. I don't have paladin as a class, its something you earn. Sorry, no Elves. Any good or nuetral align works best. If you are a Half Orc or a Half Elf, you have to take the feat, Pass for Human. The main dieties are Heironeous and Millikki but any Realms diety is OK.

You start as members of a youth soccor team and have to deliver a note for a depressed mage during your school holiday. Really, its only 26 miles away, how hard can that be?

I call it the Sabine Adventure Path

1 Walking to Rieti
The party walks to a distance village to deliver a personal missive from the Morose Mage. They encounter local color, wild boars, and a mystery they must leave before investigating. Thier nemesis, a gang of rich bullies, picks fights with them.

2 Under Hill Under Dale

3 Scavenger Hunt

4 Forest Patrol

5 Down into Flaming Red Ruin

6 Haunted Images of Death

7 All Things Well and Good

The surviving heroes should be level 7 or 8 by the end of the story arc.
