Plus, barbarians can sunder spells.

And eat magic.

My next barbarian character is going to be named Superboy Prime.

PS: Can we get a rage power where you punch a wall and it resurrects someone and reverses their alignment?

It looks like the Barbarian's honor has been defended! I too agree they are far from the weakest class.

All this is interesting, how would people rate the full BAB classes only, using only the Core, APG, UC, and UM. I think I would put them as:

1) Barbarian
2) Paladin*
3) Ranger
4) Fighter
5) Cavalier

Barbarians are awesome as this thread further proves.

* the paladin has the LG clause which makes him not suitable for my gaming group. Not a big fan of this. I wish he was some sort of holy warrior and could chose from a range of alignments.

I love the rangers versatility. A great class.

Fighters were good with Core only, but I think the other full BAB classes have surpassed them since.

Cavaliers. Not a mount fan. Or teamwork feat fan either.

I'd actually rate fighters higher than that, but mostly because I have found a way to completely break the game with an archer build. Yes, barbarian is involved, but the fighter levels str what makes it tick.

The love was in the Advanced Player's Guide with a little extra love in the Ultimate Combat.

Where do you put GUNSLINGER?!

Also, Post-APG, but especially Post-UC, Fighters are really better fielded as battlefield control Combat Maneuver maniacs. Proper archetype (unarmed fighter?)-> Whip+Shield -> Branching mastery trees of each -> Combat maneuvers (especially bullrush and trip. Maybe grapple). And some stuff to enhance attacks of opportunity. Greatest battlefield control, with very very few restrictions. Incredibly feat intensive, but that's why the fighter's the only class for the job.

And I dunno. I've built some pretty intense CN barbarians, only to have them straight destroyed by Paladins. Not that I subjected them to scientific rigor or anything.
