I'd recommend something along the lines of a Paladin2/Fighter5/Stalwart Defender. The SD's entry requirements are rather simple as well. Something that won't have that high of an AC but just kind of keep going is an Invulnerable Rager Barbarian with Raging Vitality Feat and Superstition. They have excellent saves and gobs of HP's.

You know for a stalwart defender I recommend going with the 'pillbox' using a ranged weapon (if you are a halfling I recommend going with warslinger and using a sling) with a light shield.

The biggest problem with the stalwart defender is the hold lack of movement thing -- can't be a threat if you aren't able to hit anything that isn't near you. Going with a sling (for a halfling warslinger only) will fix that. (For halflings only) a sling can do everything the bow can (except multishot) cheaper and earlier while still using a light shield (which you can bash with in melee).

For shields I recommend using a madu (exotic light shield) which works as a spiked shield but reduces the penalties you take from using combat expertise -- combined with offensive defender you'll drop 2 points from your combat expertise penalty. I would also recommend taking the stalwart and improved stalwart feats since they turn dodge bonus into DR that stacks with class feature DR which in turn states for the defender that it stacks with armor DR.

My final recommendation is to go with an unbreakable fighter to get endurance and diehard for free with your first level of fighter. Unflinching is better than the standard bravery anyways, and getting heroic recovery isn't a bad deal either.
