Now, there are a lot of PC's deaths and such that go on through out an adventure path. In Souls for Smugglers Shiv I have found 3 good spots to help 'start out' new PC characters. One is the Thrunefang camp, easy enought, they were captured by the cannibals. The second and really the easiest is that they meet up with new PC's onlong the shore being the only survivors of their shipwreck. I am wondering of any other easy 'starting points' for this adventure path.

Well meeting the new PC in Eleder or Kalabuto would work. After the second AP, the easiest way would be to use the Faction the PC's choose, by having the new PC come with the resupply caravan.

After my group lost a PC during the fight with the shadow demon they held a burying ritual for their fallen comrade and the savaged rival faction agents. After a few minutes the new PC, a Zenj monk, arrived, following the smoke caused by cremating the bodies. He turned out to be on a spiritual journey to find unity of mind and body when the (now dead) rival faction agents ambushed him and stole his ring of sustenance.
There is also the travelling merchants caravan in book 2 (the one with the cockfight) where a new PC might be easily picked up. Once you are done with book 2 there is a steady supply of potential new PCs in the allied faction's base camp.
