Cool, I'll have Bindlplotz completely updated when I get back. Just simple firearms correct? What's our pay rate now??
Obviously Bindlplotz will be undergoing a complete revision. Basically start from scratch. 5th level Gunfighter.
Can I just cash out the value of my current weapons for new weapons, I might take pistolero or gun tank.So some flexibility with weapons would help.
Bindlplotz has been very ungreedy, only taking the gauntlets before because no one else was using them and he at the time had human favored enemy,. How much cash does he have?

DM-Camris wrote:So how are you changing your characters? (With the new books and all)Dot!
I'm going to look at cloistered cleric...since she's very much a non-combatant, that might be useful. But not if it gives up healing.
Nope, cloistered cleric is awful. Annie's pretty much staying unchanged.

DM-Camris |

Bindlplotz;
yes you can tear down and completely rebuild your character as a Gunslinger as per the Ultimate Combat book. You can cash out your equpment and use it to refit with new stuff.
Dax calculated that with the bonus, everyone got 1520.08 for each member. Adding 1400 from Lavinia, that's 2920.08 each.
New pay scale is 300 crowns per month for each of you.
You ARE restricted to the Early firearms list, but you can have enchanted what ever arms you can afford.
Good luck on your work man! Your compadres will likely be tangling with pirates when you get back...

"Why don't we name it Savage Kraken as a testament to our ventures together?"
One vote for Savage Kraken!
How much does it cost to fix the ship?
A basic set of used cordage and sails will go for 2,000 crowns.
A complete set of new spars, sails, cordage, tar and spares for it all will go for 10,000 crowns.

I could live with Savage Kraken

Spinnaker Jon |

Now, fer the crew of our new ship.
Thar be two jobs that you, me partners, need t' decide on. The Captain, and the Navigator. One o' us partners should take 'em if possible.
Now me, I can take either one, but I be a better Navigator than Captain pure skill wise. Which of these can you do?
Captain needs Profession (Sailor), and Navigator needs Knowledge (Geography).

Gull Street Annie |

sorry for the silence, guys, moving to a house takes a lot of time!
Annie hasn't spent any money yet. Will 500 gold toward the ship be enough to help out?
Annie's only got her straight wisdom bonus right now toward sailing. If nobody else has any ranks either, Annie can invest a skill point - that would make her modifier an 8 - but she's already investing skills in face skills, heal, and spellcraft for crafting, and is stretched quite thin on cleric skill points.

Bryson has no desire to be a leader, so captain is out. In addition, he plans to spend the voyage playing in the wind and the surf while wildshaped, so navigator is pretty much out as well. However, he is willing to help as much as he can and could offer a bonus (aid another) on navigation checks. Also, if Annie is captain, he will obviously be her enforcer. He is willing to help, but doesn't want any actual duties if he can help it.

Spinnaker Jon |

And another thing; ships armaments.
The ship has three hardpoints; two light and one heavy.
We can put a Ballista on a light or heavy hardpoint, and a Catapult on a heavy hardpoint.
The Ballista costs 500 crowns and the bolts for it cost 1 crown apiece.
The Catapult costs 550 crowns and basic shot for it is free. Alchemical shot for it (such as firebombs or choking smokepots) cost 50 crowns apiece.
(Gunpowder weapons like Bombards are not available for sale; if you want one you'll have to make it.)
And another thing.
We should probably add a powder magazine for Bindlplotz for 500 crowns, and any other crafts specialty cabin (like an alchemy lab) can be made for 500 crowns.

DM-Camris |

OK guys, do you want anything specific done with the ship or crew before I shove things along?
Anyone want to take the Captains spot? Keep it in the family with Spinnaker Jon? Hire a better sailor for the job?
To compare, Spinnaker Jon has a Profession (Sailor) of 6, a seasoned Captain will have one of 11.

DM-Camris |

I can't find a source for sailor's wages, but I seem to remember it's something like 1 sp per day for a regular sailor, 3 to 5 times that for an officer, and 10 times that for a Captain. (plus shares if a prize is taken, etc.)
A pittance of course, so it's no trouble to hire a full crew. (Jon knows people...)
So you're all agreed that Spinnaker Jon will serve as Captain/Navigator?

No-Eyes does indeed wear a patch over both eyes.
Being a cook seems to be his main job, and he's done a fair job so far, though you've only spent a day aboard.
He seems to have his other senses sharpened, like his sense of smell and hearing, and sometimes when it's dark or foggy he'll be put on watch because of it.

Bryson now keeps Read Weather memorized and will cast it each day. He doesn't want another storm sneaking up on us if he can help it.
