Dot!

I'm going to look at cloistered cleric...since she's very much a non-combatant, that might be useful. But not if it gives up healing.

Cool, I'll have Bindlplotz completely updated when I get back. Just simple firearms correct? What's our pay rate now??

Obviously Bindlplotz will be undergoing a complete revision. Basically start from scratch. 5th level Gunfighter.

Can I just cash out the value of my current weapons for new weapons, I might take pistolero or gun tank.So some flexibility with weapons would help.

Bindlplotz has been very ungreedy, only taking the gauntlets before because no one else was using them and he at the time had human favored enemy,. How much cash does he have?

Nope, cloistered cleric is awful. Annie's pretty much staying unchanged.

Bindlplotz;
yes you can tear down and completely rebuild your character as a Gunslinger as per the Ultimate Combat book. You can cash out your equpment and use it to refit with new stuff.
Dax calculated that with the bonus, everyone got 1520.08 for each member. Adding 1400 from Lavinia, that's 2920.08 each.
New pay scale is 300 crowns per month for each of you.
You ARE restricted to the Early firearms list, but you can have enchanted what ever arms you can afford.

Good luck on your work man! Your compadres will likely be tangling with pirates when you get back...

Does anyone have ranks in Appraise?

Annie is a curious sort, she'd probably go through the papers form the pirate island to see what information she can glean.

It will just take Annie two days to make a new belt for Bryson. The material components are 2000 gp.

Half-Orc Monk 7 (Sacred Mountain)

Leveled. Swapped throw anything with Blood Vengance, if any member of the party drops Ghirrak rages.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter 5

I forgot to scale Combat Expertise at level 4, so I've fixed that.

Err..I hope you don't mind if Annie still tries to keep that from happening...

:)

Half-Orc Monk 7 (Sacred Mountain)

Absolutely, Ghirrak will just give enemies something to worry about while Annie gets them back on their feet.

One vote for Savage Kraken!

Dgrim wrote:

How much does it cost to fix the ship?

A basic set of used cordage and sails will go for 2,000 crowns.

A complete set of new spars, sails, cordage, tar and spares for it all will go for 10,000 crowns.

I could live with Savage Kraken

Grand Lodge

I don't have a better name so I'm ok with Savage Krakens as well.

LMAO!

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter 5

I can put up 400 towards fixing the ship.

Grand Lodge

I have 1500 gold just sitting around.

Half-Orc Monk 7 (Sacred Mountain)

I'll toss 1000 in

Grand Lodge

How about 200 from Dgrim, 600 from Ghirrak, and 1000 from Bryson. That would leave all of us with some cash. After that we only need 200 more. Maybe Jon or Annie can put that up.

Arr, Spinnaker Jon can chip in 1000 as well.

Now, fer the crew of our new ship.
Thar be two jobs that you, me partners, need t' decide on. The Captain, and the Navigator. One o' us partners should take 'em if possible.
Now me, I can take either one, but I be a better Navigator than Captain pure skill wise. Which of these can you do?

Captain needs Profession (Sailor), and Navigator needs Knowledge (Geography).

Female Human Cleric 6 {HP: 37 /37 AC: 21}

sorry for the silence, guys, moving to a house takes a lot of time!

Annie hasn't spent any money yet. Will 500 gold toward the ship be enough to help out?

Annie's only got her straight wisdom bonus right now toward sailing. If nobody else has any ranks either, Annie can invest a skill point - that would make her modifier an 8 - but she's already investing skills in face skills, heal, and spellcraft for crafting, and is stretched quite thin on cleric skill points.

Grand Lodge

Bryson has no desire to be a leader, so captain is out. In addition, he plans to spend the voyage playing in the wind and the surf while wildshaped, so navigator is pretty much out as well. However, he is willing to help as much as he can and could offer a bonus (aid another) on navigation checks. Also, if Annie is captain, he will obviously be her enforcer. He is willing to help, but doesn't want any actual duties if he can help it.

Grand Lodge

With the money from Annie and Jon, the total comes to 3300 gold- more than enough. Maybe we could buy some select new materials rather than all second hand.

And another thing; ships armaments.
The ship has three hardpoints; two light and one heavy.
We can put a Ballista on a light or heavy hardpoint, and a Catapult on a heavy hardpoint.
The Ballista costs 500 crowns and the bolts for it cost 1 crown apiece.
The Catapult costs 550 crowns and basic shot for it is free. Alchemical shot for it (such as firebombs or choking smokepots) cost 50 crowns apiece.
(Gunpowder weapons like Bombards are not available for sale; if you want one you'll have to make it.)

And another thing.
We should probably add a powder magazine for Bindlplotz for 500 crowns, and any other crafts specialty cabin (like an alchemy lab) can be made for 500 crowns.

OK guys, do you want anything specific done with the ship or crew before I shove things along?
Anyone want to take the Captains spot? Keep it in the family with Spinnaker Jon? Hire a better sailor for the job?
To compare, Spinnaker Jon has a Profession (Sailor) of 6, a seasoned Captain will have one of 11.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter 5

Will a captain and a navigator cost anything?

Grand Lodge

I say Jon should be the Captain. However, assuming that Jon will continue to adventure with us, we'll still need a top notch First Mate.

I like the powder magazine for Bindle.

I can't find a source for sailor's wages, but I seem to remember it's something like 1 sp per day for a regular sailor, 3 to 5 times that for an officer, and 10 times that for a Captain. (plus shares if a prize is taken, etc.)
A pittance of course, so it's no trouble to hire a full crew. (Jon knows people...)

So you're all agreed that Spinnaker Jon will serve as Captain/Navigator?

Half-Orc Monk 7 (Sacred Mountain)

Definitely

Grand Lodge

I was going over Bryson's posts from the beginning and I realized a couple of things.
1- He is far less country than he used to be.
2- This game is 2 years old.

I'm fine with that.

For reference, the ship is a Caravel;

Caravel (Sailing Ship)
The caravel is a seaworthy, nimble ship that can handle long ocean crossings. It has a small forecastle and sterncastle, and three masts. A caravel is a smooth-hulled, full-decked vessel built on a strong internal frame. It is a relatively advanced design, and not every seafaring people have the skills and knowledge to build one.

Caravel: Colossal vehicle;
Seaworthiness +4;
Shiphandling +2;
Speed wind × 30 ft. (average);
Overall AC –3;
Hull sections 24 (sink 6 sections); Section hp 80 (hardness 5); Section AC 3;
Rigging Sections 3; Rigging hp 80 (hardness 0), AC 1;
Ram 4d6;
Mounts 2 light and 1 heavy;
Space 60 ft. by 20 ft.; Height 10 ft. (draft 10 ft.);
Complement 30; Watch 7;
Cargo 120 tons (Speed wind × 15 ft. if 60 tons or more);

Last chance for naming; Lavinia is on the way to break the champaigne over the bow.

There were two votes for Savage Kraken, but Spinnaker Jon was holding out for Surprise or Thunderer.
What say ye all?

Doesn't 'No-Eyes Bellamy wear a patch over both eyes? How did he get to be our cook?

No-Eyes does indeed wear a patch over both eyes.
Being a cook seems to be his main job, and he's done a fair job so far, though you've only spent a day aboard.
He seems to have his other senses sharpened, like his sense of smell and hearing, and sometimes when it's dark or foggy he'll be put on watch because of it.

Sorry about the lack of a map; Photobucket is wonky right now.

Grand Lodge

Bryson now keeps Read Weather memorized and will cast it each day. He doesn't want another storm sneaking up on us if he can help it.

Grand Lodge

You do realize that this isn't our fight. If someone were to call Bryson back, he'd come.

Half-Orc Monk 7 (Sacred Mountain)

%#@! ninjas threw shuriken at me. It's on!

Grand Lodge

Just as long as we're clear about things.

I say, just where IS Bindlplotz anyway? This is a perfect time for a stray shot to blow the Alchemist's Fire warehouse into orbit...;)

Sorry I haven't been more active lately. I'll see if I can kick things forward tonight.
By the way, The Old Republic is almost as good as it's hype!

I've been trying to get the perfect ships deck plan, because you players deserve it!
But I just can't quite manage it, at least at the moment. I'll just abstract it in Excel tonight and get this show back on the road!

Dgrim, are you wearing your armor at this point?
