You can say that again. Driving on I-10 through Texas from one end to the other is about a day and a half.

Don't have any family to brag about anywhere near me. But towards the tail end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014 I went through a very bad three month period with no job and no unemployment compensation. I had to sell off a bunch of stuff I would rather have kept and put a bunch of other stuff in hock.

However, praise God, finding a job that paid just barely enough to live on and a certain amount of fiscal discipline has me climbing out of the hole. I finished paying off all the back rent a couple of months ago, and that has freed up funds I can use to start ransoming items out of hock. I've probably still got at least 8 more months or so before I'm where I would like to be economically. But my situation is definitely improving and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
