I don't know why I've never really noticed this thread before.
Although the last 20 years have probably had more downs than ups, I always try to maintain a positive outlook on things. So, a few of the things that help me love my life are:
My son, who's nearly 19 now and an amazingly talented musician and who challenges me intellectually on a daily basis.
My friends, most of whom I've known for over 25 years.
Gaming. Granted it's been 90% one iteration of D&D after another for the past 27 years, it's still my all time favorite pastime and I love the creativity and even hard work to create and maintain an exciting world for my players to enjoy.
Snow. Here in Arkansas we get less and less each year, but as a kid I can remember some righteous snowfalls. I love to walk in a thick, heavy snowfall and enjoy the magical silence of it all.
My dogs. They're just mutts, though likely with some pibble thrown in. They were rescued because of peoples' fear of anything with the words "pit bull" in them. We call them the "dingo twins" and they're really just happy idiots who make me smile no matter what has happened each day.

And now I do, too! Just downloaded it. Great stuff, and I'm thinking off all sorts of deviltry for my "beginner" group.
