Howdie,
I am not sure if something is going wrong with my CC campaign: My players have now explored all of the base level of harrowstone and just finished the top level last night, where they defeated both the piper and father charlatan. I have so far NOT awarded them the XP for those two, because it dawned on me that going on like this they will easily hit level 5 before too long. Since the book states that they ought to end the adventure on level 4 on medium speed that kinda worries me.
I have NOT awarded any bonus XP, but my players did indeed research a whole lot and so well that they got to the 25-stuff nearly on every topic.
Am I doing something wrong, or are my players just doing something right?

Did you divide by 4 the XP for the research?
No, I most assuredly did not... nor did I know I was supposed to. It was my impression that as with everything in the books, XP listed for the research are ment to be given to each player just as they were written. I think I even posted a question on that...
That WOULD explain a lot though...

No, don't bother replying... I did not divide ANY XP by 4 at all, and I would say THAT explains nicely why my group is a bit higher than it ought to be right now... *blush* Holy cow, what a blunder...
Thanks for pointing that out to me - AGAIN, after James J himself answered my first thread saying JUST that...

We all make mistakes, it's no biggie. If I were you, I'd just stop giving them XP now and increase the difficulty of everything further in Harrowstone (slapping an advanced template to everything and increasing the Haunt DCs by 2 should do the trick), but it's your campaign, so do what you think it's best. :)

We did indeed agree to not hand out XP til the end of book 1. I will then put them somewhere near LVL 5. A bit anti-climatic, but once the ball is dropped, it's dropped :/
Thanks for the help and feedback.
