Bard

My buddies and I are starting a pathfinder game It's six players in all. I wanna try a bard for once but not very familiar with it. We have a twenty point build system setup....anyone have any good ideas state wise? I was looking at halfling for the race and the type i would wanna be is a controlling type mainly any tips or ideas i would be thankful for

For a controller type bard, I would recommend Cha>Str>Dex>Con>Int>Wis

Because combat maneuvers are one of the things you will want to be doing as a controller bard I would seriously recommend against going with a small class. If your bard concept requires it to be fun, then I would suggest looking at a bard archer type build instead. Human or Half-elf would be your best choices.

This would give you the flexibility to be taking feats to make weapons and combat maneuvers to control things, while still having good spell casting ability for control spells.

Any ideas on the actual stat numbers? Its been a while since i played any type of fantasy game. Especially pathfinder

I would recommend giving this a look over. But be aware this was written before some of the archetypes came out in some newer books. Still lots of very good info.

Tell us about your character's personality and what he sees as 'controlling'. Does he see 'control' as being all about knowing his enemy or all about being all about mastering how to disarm or trip his opponent? Does 'control' refer to how well a person is in the game of thrones?

Here is what I did with my PFS bard.

str 15
dex 14
con 12
int 13
wis 8
cha 16 (+2 human)

Feats
combat expertise
improved feint

I pretty much run around with a whip and perform combat maneuvers on the enemy. Let me know if you are looking for anything else?
