Okay this is the OOC thread for my campaign called The Sorcerers
This is where I root out the best of you brave souls.
Important
Now, I’m going cover a good deal of the campaigns content so you can get a good idea as to what you’re getting yourselves into.
Campaign Mapping
This campaign has three books. Now I’m not talking books like those skinny adventure path books, I’m talking inch or two think filled with the detailed essence of the story and world. In each book there are three Acts and each Act has 10 to 12 chapters or parts. Now running through the previous sessions I have had with this campaign. If we post regularly, we should be able to move at a rate of two chapters a month. If we go at a post a day however, it will be a chapter a month. Any slower and I say it isn’t worth playing. Now I will post a rapid progression at least once a day (Fridays will be iffy).
Challenge
Okay, most important note to remember is that your are high schoolers. You are not brave warriors, well learned spellcasters and specialists used to dealing with life or death situations. As such, early on, leveling will be slow. There will be no XP for killing things . You gain levels and XP through training with a mentor in your chosen class. A mentor will be required As such you will have to find one and that wont be very easy to do. Especially classes rooted in magic such as wizard, and so on. Those are rare. Also, you have to learn feats from instructors as well. This method of leveling will only last for the first couple of levels. The first two chapters, you will not level. You will still gain your sorcerer part in chapter two.
You will not be expected to fight for the first several chapters. As such you must rely on others to protect you. There are many strong characters that you will encounter who are capable of protecting you. It will be up to you to recruit them and use them to get where you need to go. There are possibilities to gain fighting capability but combat is not the source of leveling. Growth comes from learning and training and any dangerous encounter grants growth without having to kill the foe. Though there wont be much demand for you to fight in Act one, Act two and onward you will be experiencing some epic battles where the four “kids” will be so powerful that they can take on whole armies. It will be an epic.
Player Expectations
Okay, here is what I expect from you as the players. You are high school kids, the adventure you are about to embark on is one where you leave a place of familiarity and safety to a place that is unknown, unpredictable, and dangerous. Kids are normally quite adaptable. This is a stage where you are expected to react and respond to things as though you are witnessing them for the first time. Unless you’ve had some traumatizing life event or you are someone who got into fights frequently, you’re not likely to be used to violence. Of course there is always the desensitizing of slasher films and violent video games but I will leave that up to you.
Final Notes
Now, you wont for most of the first couple of chapters, have feats. Those you need to learn from someone or from books and some time to train.
I have covered as much as I can for the moment. I will cover additional rules once things get going. Once important thing to note is, I will not be replacing players once this gets going. You die or drop out, that is it. The group will need to progress with fewer and fewer players until there are none left. Then I open a new recruitment and start over. I’d prefer to not have this problem so try hard not to die, or leave.
Roleplay Recruitment
Now without further delay. The final examination roleplay.
The year is fall 2010, there are many events and activities that take place during this time. The place is Monrial Café, a book store and coffee house. You are here hanging with others from your school. Feel free to talk to one another. You can talk about favorite hobbies, movies, or other events that you find particularly interesting. Socialize with your NPC friends if no one else wants to talk with you. Go for it. I will end this nonsense this weekend, once I have narrowed to the four players I want. That is all. I look forward to running this campaign again.
Important! Again, this is a very different campaign! Ask Questions!

This is Terry Allen. No alias set up.
Terry walks up to the counter, his sweats jacket over one arm, and addresses the clerk. "Is that copy of Wire's lockpicking guide in yet? Sheila was asking for it the other day...it's a good basic book, and when you're learning you can never have too many of those." He looks around the cafe for familiar faces. "Lots of fairweather football fans these days, the way Cooper's been playing. It crowds out what the rest of us are playing at, which I must say I don't mind at all."

![]() |
Trenton walks into the bookstore hesitantly, he'd been told this was a good place to meet kids from the same school and he looked around trying to spot kids of his own age but most looked slightly younger than him. Since he'd been entered late into the system he was always a good year older than most kids in his grade.
He walks around the bookstore and picks up a familiar book The Wheel of Time
"Always a good book." he says to himself and then puts it down and walks up to the cash register waiting in line behind a young man.

Shanosuke |

The cashier regards Terry for a moment. "Why yes I believe we do." The clerk fetches a copy from the back and rings up Terry. "I'm sure the rest of you are playing quite well. There here you go, if you want you can read in the cafe."
Furture reference, for this roleplay session, I wont be able to post a lot for the next few days. Feel free to take reasonable control of the NPCs actions. The only people you should be waiting on are other players. Not me. I trust your judgement

Jen enters the cafe, a place that she had been only a few times before, to pick up some books for her classes. Immediately, a strong waff of coffee hits her like a brick wall. At least, it was strong to someone that was so unaccustomed to being in the cafe. The scent sends her reeling, forcing Jen to take a few deep breaths outside to regain her composure.
I don't remember that from last time, she mutters under her breath.
Discreetly lifting her travel handkerchief closer to her face to block some of the smell, she walks into the cafe again, making a beeline for the coffee shop. From the height of the sun, she knows that she is late for her group meeting to head out camping. Seeing none of her group present, Jen asks for a cup of hot water from the barristars, preparing some tea from some leaves that she picked up from her time in the outdoors.
Despite drinking her tea in slow sips, none of her group members arrive by the she can see the bottom of her cup. Frustration mounting, she tosses her cup into the garbage and heads off into the book section of the store, to rid herself of the horrible smell.
She taps one of the people waiting in line, a tall man that she has seen a few times in school (*cough*Trenton*cough*). Excuse me, I hope I'm not interrupting, but would you happen to have the time?

![]() |

Trenton, the young man in front of you in line has just bought a copy of Wire's The Complete Guide to Lockpicking. At the cashier's words, he chuckles a bit and says, "I suppose I could look it over for anything new, but I've read a lot of other basic books before." As he turns, he glances at your purchase, then up at you. "I'm waiting until Sanderson finishes the series before I try to read any of them again, I'm afraid."

![]() |
Trenton looks over his shoulder at the young woman behind him.
"I believe its 1600 miss."
Then turning around he looks down at the other man and smiles shyly.
"Yeah same here, I just lost the first one in my recent move have to buy it again. Um have fun with your ah... purchase." he says looking down at the other man's book.

Aiden Frost |

A young man in his late teens tears into the cafe; a look of terrified elation pressed into his face. He is breathing hard and his chin length hair is blown back like he'd been hanging his head out a car window, or at least running a long way.
Once inside, he slows down and makes a bee line for the back corner of the cafe. Please be here...
A broad smile breaks across the young man's face as his eyes find what he was looking for: 3 police men are enjoying a quick coffee break at one of the back tables. He slides easily into an empty seat at the next table just as three towering boys in letterman jackets rush into the cafe.
One of the officers leans over,"Making friends again Aiden?"
"I don't know what you mean officer Bradock." Aiden's smile widens as the three jocks make their way over to him. They sit down at his table uninvited, feigning good spirits. The biggest one, a neanderthal with a black unibrow leans close and speaks to Aiden.
"You know you're dead right? No one humiliates me like that and gets away with it."
"Taylor, are you telling me you don't like chicken?" Aiden laughs, remembering how hard it had been to pick Taylor's locker and fill it with 4 live chickens. Totaly worth it
By now, the cops are watching the teens talk and eventually officer Bradock comes over,"Everything ok here guys?"
Aiden sees his chance.
"Actually officer, no. these guys are trying to sell me marijuana. I told them I didn't want any, but they're not listening."
The three jocks jump up and mutter various reasons why the have to go and quickly shuffle out. Without waiting to explain to officer Bradock, aiden trots over to the counter to order a drink, practically giggling to himself.

Adina Eyvendr |

Listening to the sound of the little bell on the door as she opens it, Adina notices two things.
1: The bell is new, it's sound much higher than the old one
2: There is a new scent in the air, and she digs in her pocket for change when she sees they have a new coffee.
Deciding to savor the new brew first, Adina finds a seat and takes a sip, deciding quickly that it needed more cinnamon. Once she found a seat and took another sip of her coffee, Adina looks around the cafe. Nothing really catches her eye until she spies a boy about her age sitting with some cops. She takes her sketch pad out of her backpack and flips to a fresh page.
She titles it "Delinquent of Future Policeman?" She frowns as he gets up and hopes he's going to join them again, but even if he doesn't she still had enough to finish the sketch.

Aiden pays for his double short latte and tips the cashier. There is a girl at the bar adding cinnamon to her drink. Ah ha, that's where she went. Aiden follows a ways behind and waits for her to sit down at a table. When she does, he goes up to her.
"Hi. I saw you looking at me when I was sitting with the 5-0. Can I sit down?"
Aiden acts confident and sits smoothly with an easy smile. His eyes however, scream Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god...

Retech |

16:00! Damnit, not again! She stomps the ground in an uncharacteristic show of frustration. As Jen spins around to exit the cafe, she bumps into the very person that she was waiting for, her scout master. Unlike usual, he is wearing a loose fitting shirt and tie, attire that was definitely not suited for the outdoors.
I'm sorry Jennifer, I tried to reach you sooner. It was strange for him to call her by her full name and made her curious. I called your house, but you weren't there. The other scouts haven't seen you all day and since you insist on not carrying a cell phone or checking your email...Anyways, I finally found a job again, working here at Monrial's cafe. Unfortunately, this means that I won't have time to plan camping trips. I know that they meant a lot to you, but I hope that someone else can take up the slack and continue to make these trips happen.
Another man, presumbly the store's manager, comes out of a locked door and waves to her scout master. He quickly leaves to greet him, leaving Jen unable to get a word in edgewise and obstructing the line.

"Yeah same here, I just lost the first one in my recent move have to buy it again. Um have fun with your ah... purchase." he says looking down at the other man's book.
"Always," Terry answers with a grin. "Say, if you're interested in that sort of thing--lockpicking, sleight of hand, like that--I have a few friends who practice it. Nothing illegal, really."
He pauses for a moment to watch the confrontation between Aiden and the athletes unfold, shaking his head. "One of these days, they're going to tear him a new one."
As he turns to go sit down he catches sight of Jen and nods politely at her.

![]() |
"Um shouldn't someone...." Trenton trails off as he watches the three bullies walk off. He then turns to Terry to say "No thank you" but seeing him walk off. He just pays for his book and then buys a water as well and goes to sit down trying to figure out how to break the ice with these kids.

Floyd Prince Tanner |
What is the point of grounding someone if you give them so much freedom like this? Floyd wondered quietly as he was sitting in the café section of Monrial Café and staring out the window absentmindedly. His parents allowed him to stay out after school as long as he was doing something worthwhile like studying or practicing for one of his sports or plays. In Floyd's defense he did have his history textbook out on the table next to his strawberry shake.
Turning away from the window he saw a few people he recognized from school like Trenton and Aiden, people whom he saw frequently enough to remember their names; he also saw a few that he didn't recognize - that stood out from the small crowd in the café at least. Across the room one of those in the second group of people made a small outburst that seemed to reveal some deep frustration before calming back down when she ran into another unfamiliar gentleman. Closer in front of Floyd was another younger lady who seemed to be drawing something before Aiden came over to talk to her.
Floyd chuckled to himself at the passing idea that just crossed his mind. I should move in for the block just to see his reaction. He might have decided to do just that if he knew Aiden a bit better, but another part of him said that probably wouldn't be the best idea right now.
And so there sat the delinquent scanning the room briefly between gazing out the window. He just couldn't bring himself to do much of anything today, let alone study or go out of his way to be sociable. He did pull out a blank piece of paper from his textbook with a sigh and randomly started to fold it into an airplane.

Adina Eyvendr |

"Hi. I saw you looking at me when I was sitting with the 5-0. Can I sit down?"
Aiden acts confident and sits smoothly with an easy smile. His eyes however, scream Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god...
"Of course." She said cheerfully, motioning to the empty chairs at her table. "He has a nice smile," she thinks to herself. She hands him her sketch pad so he can see what she was drawing. "I don't usually get the chance to talk to my subjects you know. You caught my eye, and that means you get sketched. I'm Adina, it's nice to meet you."

![]() |

Jen looks over at Terry, snapping out of her momentarily stunned state. But why doesn't he avoid confrontation? While fleeing might not always be an option, he seems to have been the one that provoked them. Maybe I should go and ask him...On the other hand, that could be a confrontation as well.
Terry shrugs. "I have no idea. Maybe he just enjoys it. They're always telling us to challenge ourselves, right?" He pauses a moment and looks at Jen. "You hike around the school grounds a lot, right? I think I've seen you from the roof a couple of times."

![]() |
Trenton sits down next to a window glancing around placing his gymbag down next to him he opens his new book to the first few pages but soon loses interest and sets it down gazing off into spacing wishing for a way he could go back in time and maybe find a way to be accepted back into the Navy.

Aiden Frost |

Aiden Frost wrote:"Of course." She said cheerfully, motioning to the empty chairs at her table. "He has a nice smile," she thinks to herself. She hands him her sketch pad so he can see what she was drawing. "I don't usually get the chance to talk to my subjects you know. You caught my eye, and that means you get sketched. Aiden acts confident and sits smoothly with an easy smile. His eyes however, scream Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god...
"So I'm your subject now am I? Well, then Adina, you may call me Aiden."
The young Irishman scrutinizes the sketch. "Delinquent of Future Policemen?"
"Interesting title." A questioning smirk crawls onto his lips. "What do you really think of me then?"

Retech |

I probably hike more than you've seen me, but I only wander around the school grounds when I'm tired. For a real adventure, I wander a few miles... Jen stops and realizes the importance of Terry's statement. Not many have seen her, a rare few have noticed her, and only a small handful have ever remembered her. But here was this person that she did not know, that did all three. Secondly...The roof? How did you get up there?

Moose slouches into the cafe. He glances around the place, taking in the usual drama, high school preening and mating games that come with the territory. When he reaches the counter, he orders a coke in a low voice, making the cashier have to ask him twice. He turns around in time to see the punk who put the chickens in Taylor's locker making eyes at the pretty girl. 'That was a pretty funny trick,' he thinks, then sees Terry talking to a girl. He wanders over and nods at Terry.
"Hey. Cool if I sit here?" Not waiting for the answer he pulls up a seat.

John "Moose" Cooper is dumb.
At least that's what he's always been told. Ever since he was little and twice the size of the other kids, running into corners and accidentally knocking over the other kids when playing. Being bigger and stronger than the others is supposed to be a good thing, but for Moose, it's always been his curse. He just wants to fit it, but when you're 6'6" and 300 pounds of solid muscle at age 17? You don't fit in at all. Couple that with a mom who ran out on his father and him when he was 11, a father who drinks too much and gets angry at his dead-end job and deadbeat ex-wife and dumb@$$ son and a trailer that is more holes than walls, and you got the makings of a juvenile delinquent.
Thing is, Moose always had football. On the field, he's alive. On the field, people cheer for him instead of cringing from him. On the field, he can contribute and allow his mind to soar. Finding the exact spot to slip through the opposing defense requires geometry and algebra and spatial awareness. It's where his joy lies and it's the only place where he can feel like anything other than 'that big dumb jock.' Off the field, Moose is quiet and withdrawn. Teachers think he's possibly retarded, coaches just see the potential for a state victory this year and friends never seem to get through his aura of stolidness. Plus, it's not like high school is made for breaking out of molds, is it?
Moose loves math, but he's careful to keep his grades solidly B-. If they were higher, teachers would immediately expect he was cheating and look deeper than Moose wants into his life. He loves football, every aspect and he's a decent quarterback as well as a wall of stone as center. In what spare time he gets he reads fantasy novels, though he's careful to never let anyone else see them.
As for elements, Moose is Earth and Air, nearly equally. Earth is for his physical form, his solidity. Air is for his mental acuity and the dreams he keeps hidden. As for motivation to visit a fantasy world? A chance to go to a place where he's not Big Dumb Moose, but can define himself for the first time in his life? Who wouldn't take that chance?

Adina Eyvendr |

"Interesting title." A questioning smirk crawls onto his lips. "What do you really think of me then?"
"I think you have a really nice smile." Adina replies with a playful wink. "But that wasn't the answer you were wanting -or even expecting- was it? My honest opinion is that I don't know you well enough. My first impression though, is that I like you. I don't know why though, not yet." She takes another sip of her coffee and savors the taste before continuing. "I hope I'm not weirding you out or anything like that."

Left a note in the OOC explaining why I haven't posted here yet! Damn it! Can't believe I missed the start of this! There were so many great places I could have jumped in already...But might get kind of complicated asking everyone to jump back in time, so I'll have her enter now (ideally, she could have been the 'clerk' Terry bought her book from...
Suddenly the door bell rings again, somewhat forcefully, as the door opens quickly, the person opening it obviously in a hurry. Glancing at her watch and grimacing slightly an otherwise stunning young girl moves right up manage and puts on a dazzling smile while she says "I'm so sorry I'm late Mr. Henderson, we're practicing a fantastic new move for the big game next Friday and I didn't want to let the girls go until we had it perfect. You understand don't you?" Not expecting anything less then her smile making everything ok, as it always did, Ashley is completely unsurprised when her boss smiles and says gushingly "Oh, yes, of course honey! Don't worry. Can't wait to see the new move! But I'm glad you're here, Ashley, this is Mr. Camden, he's starting here just today, would you be so kind as show him the ropes?"
"Sure Mr. H!" He really was a good enough sort, her boss. Sure, he had a bit of a crush on her, but Ashley was used to that, pretty much every male with a pulse liked her to some degree. That's just the way it had always been for her. "Mr. Camden? I'm Ashley, nice to meet you! I've seen you before haven't I? Ummm, oh yeah, you run that camping group don't you? Let me just put my things away and I'll be right with you." Putting her hair up in a ponytail as she walks Ashly moves behind the counter and puts her backpack and purse away. Although she wasn't supposed to use her cell phone while at work she takes it out and puts it in her pocket anyway. Although her boss yelled at anyone else using their cell at work he always pretended not to notice whenever she did it. 'Sometimes being cute Does have it's advantages' she thinks to herself with a smile.'[/i]
Standing up, Ashley looks briefly around. There's were quite a few people from her school here today mixed in with the regular crowd. Of course she new some of her classmates would never believe that she even knew they existed let alone knew who they were. This was one of the things she loved the most about working at Marial's, because it gace her the chance to interact with people she would never be 'allowed' to interact with at school. There was Trenton, sitting alone by himself. Her boyfriend..her Ex-boyfriend Taylor had always wondered why Trenton didn't join the football team, he certainly had the build for it. She'd just passed Taylor running out of the coffee shop with two of his cronies. She'd noticed that since they'd broken up he'd allowed his 'uni brow' to grow back. How had she ever gone out with him in the first place?? Flloyd now, he was cute. Maybe she should go talk to him?
Then over by the counter talking to each other was Adina and...what was that kid's name? The trouble-maker...Aiden, that was it. More than once she'd had to convince Taylor not to pound the kid into yesterday. Some people just didn't know when to quit while they were ahead it seemed. Anyway, it really wasn't her business and the kid seemed to enjoy himself doing it. She just hoped Taylor didn't actually get his hands on the kid someday though, because if he did, it wouldn't be pretty. But what was Aidina doing talking him anyway? She could do much better than that. Ashley hadn't spoken to the pretty artist too often, but she certainly had the looks to get pretty much any guy she wanted.
Over in another booth by himself is the new kid, Trevor. He seemed to want to keep pretty much to himself, but he was cute enough that Ashley took note to remember his name. Maybe he's the one she should talk to. 'Sigh, so many boys so little time!' Ashely laughs to herself.
And finally, standing almost right in front of her is Terry talking with another girl and Moose who just walked in. Terry was popular enough that Ashley could talk to him in school without causing any scandal. He was also in a couple of her classes and did well enough in them that she has asked for his help on a few things. And of course she knew Moose well. With his being on the football team and her being head cheerleader, the two saw each other quite often. She'd always liked Moose, he seemed...different somehow from all the jocks. 'Now what is that girl's name?? For the life of her, Ashley just could not remember. She's seen the girl before, but she seemed to be the shy, withdrawn type and Ashley had just never interacted with her, or even really heard much about her. But when she gave Terry a smile hello she included the other girl in it as well. After all, she was at work now and she was not only 'allowed' to interact with the less popular kids here, it was part of her job! Speaking of which...
"Ok Mr. Camden, I'm all yours! What would you like to see first?" seeing the reaction on his face from only her #3 smile, Ashley could tell she'd made another fan.
Sorry for the Wall o' Text' folks, just trying to catch up! Loving everyone's stuff so far!

Henderson, we were practicing a fantastic new move for the big game next Friday and I didn't want to let the girls go until we had it perfect.
'Sometimes being cute Does have it's advantages' she thinks to herself with a smile.'
Standing up, Ashley looks briefly around. There were quite a few people from her school here today mixed in with the regular crowd. Of course she new some of her classmates would never believe that she even knew they existed let alone knew who they were. This was one of the things she loved the most about working at Marial's, because it gave her the chance to interact with people she would never be 'allowed' to interact with at school. For example there was Trenton, sitting alone, again, by himself.
Ashley hadn't spoken to the pretty artist too often, but she certainly had the looks to get practically any guy she wanted.

Trenton looks up just in time to see a beautiful young girl rush in and he recognizes her vaguely as one of the cheerleaders he hadd seen around campus. Since he didn't fit in well and him just having moved here he couldn't remember many people right so maybe he was thinking of somone else though. It did seem like this was the place to come meet people though so at least his parents couldn't say he wasn't trying to make friends.
He'll watch the woman show the new employee he took it around the shop and then he will get up to go walk around the store just looking what other kind of books are offered here.

Terry looks a bit flustered. Why did I say that? How am I going to get out of this one? "Er, some of my friends and I try to take pictures of familiar places from odd angles, and then have each other guess where it is. I, um, talked to one of the teachers and got up there a couple of times. I guess it was when you were out hiking...people out by themselves kind of stand out...." His voice trails off in embarrassment.
Fortunately, he's rescued by Moose's appearance a moment later. "Cooper! Sure, sit on down. Say, do you know...I'm sorry, I know your face, but I've never heard your name. I'm Terry."
I'm going offline for now, and may not be back on until Sunday night. I may be able to check in from my phone, though, so Terry won't leave quite yet. He'll just sit and read for a bit.

Aiden Frost wrote:"Interesting title." A questioning smirk crawls onto his lips. "What do you really think of me then?""I think you have a really nice smile." Adina replies with a playful wink.
Aiden stares back at Adina stupidly. Is this a trick or is this the one girl in the universe that says what she thinks?
"Uh...well...I..." Aiden closes his mouth and eyes simultaneously, takes a deep breath and opens them again. "Thank you. And no, I was not expecting that. Most girls just blow me off or act polite until I'm out of ear shot. You seem different though. How long have you been drawing?"
Aiden's eyes flick to the door just then and he marks Moose's entrance.
That guy would be cool if he wasn't so loyal to the football bros.

Adina follows Aiden's gaze, but doesn't see anything that particularly interests her, so she tunrs back to Aiden.
"That depends on what you consider drawing. Do finger paints count?" She gently takes her sketch pad back and continues her work while she talks. "And just how am I different from these other girls you seem to have such expansive experience with?"

Aiden laughs nervously. [b]"I wouldn't call it expansive. I had a girlfriend back in Ireland, but we've broken up obviously. to be honest, I haven't really had much luck with you Americans. Until now anyway. I hope...
[ooc]For the record, Aiden has a slight Irish accent. He lived in Dublin most of his life and the accent there is pretty muted compared the others from the Emerald Isle. Also, he's lived here for almost 2 years now. I'm not writing in an accent because its not heavy enough, just a slight lilt in his speech.

"You know, it might help if you didn't say 'you Americans' like we're a completely different species. Some people might think you're insulting us." Adina offers, smiling just a little. "I am not one of those people though, so you don't have to worry about me. I notice you didn't answer my question." She teases, shaking her pencil at him in mock disapproval.

Floyd Prince Tanner |
Floyd started laughing to himself quietly as he overheard the conversation take the unexpected route. Honestly, what guy asks a question like that after making that kind of first impression? Supposedly instigating a conflict with some jocks and then obviously lying to some officers to scare them away. He wasn’t trying to eavesdrop but it wasn’t hard to overhear things in this fairly quiet place especially when they are just a table away. Besides, what is the point of doing nothing if you can’t enjoy the day people-watching?
Speaking of people that are watched, head cheerleader Ashley walked into the store to start working. Floyd definitely considered her to be attractive, but he didn’t know her well enough to be attracted to her; in fact, he hadn’t bothered to pay enough attention to her to learn anything beyond the standard gossip regarding her: past boyfriend(s), current interests, general personality, etc.
As Floyd finished his paper airplane, using the cobra fold for a simple straight flier, he heard the next stage of this conversation and almost had to stifle his laughter. Wow, she actually is responding positively to Aiden’s question. Now THAT is something new. And she seemed to actually answer honestly. He would continue to listen while he figured out the best place to aim his airplane.
He figured it would be best to interrupt the humorous conversation to see their reactions by sending the plane right past them and let it land where it landed. He turned his body to face them a little, leaned back in the chair, and launched the plane at an angle slightly above level so it would level out right as it passed the table with Aiden and Adina, if he heard her name correctly. ”Heads up,” he called out quietly with a smile in his voice, just loud enough for the two at the table to hear and probably no one else.
This may just be my pet-peeve but could you guys cut back on quoting the post you are playing off of? It is unnecessary and actually makes it more difficult to read the actual post. It looks nicer to actually show more of your character's interpretation of the post instead of having the quote there.
On another note, I'm liking the interaction so far between everyone. This is going to be fun.

Ah crap, so sorry about the triple post! Seems like the system was having problems just as I was posting and then I could't log back in before I left to correct it. Please disregard the first two posts, the Last one is the correct one.
Lol question about your post who is Trevor lol

Aiden Frost |

"Very perceptive. Most of the time that dodge works. How are you different from other girls? Well, you speak your mind, or so you seem to. That is very different. Usually you've got to 'read between the lines' our whatever."
"You not dismissive either. You're polite and...is it too bold to say pretty?"
Aiden leans back in his chair, trying to look cool but it looks more like he's bracing for the rejection that's sure to follow.
Just then, a paper airplane sails right between he and Adina. Aiden quickly scans to see who it was, but he can't tell. So he turns back to Adina.

Adina Eyvendr |

"No, not too bold at all..." Adina says as she follows the flight of the airplane. It looked well-made. Following it's path in reverse, her eyes spy the 'pilot' and she gives a little wave. "You're right though, I tend to notice things someone else might miss. It's a little talent I picked up when I started looking for things to draw or paint."
"You seem just as polite to me as I do to you, you know. Most guys wouldn't bother wondering if it was too bold to say I was pretty. You know, you might not look too bad either if you just shaved your chin. Forgive my artist's critique, but I don't think it suits you."

Aiden Frost |

Aiden laughs: louder than he'd have wanted to if he'd known it was coming.
"You sound like my ma. She's forever claiming that the girls would like me better without it."
He rubs his hands across the scraggly mass of peach fuzz. I need to buy a razor.
"Can I get you something to eat? I was going to get a sandwich myself. Their turkey pesto panini is pretty good."

Retech |

Ashley, the picture you chose for your avatar is the same one as I'm using for a cleric of Erastil. Very wierd to see it for both characters.
Jen, she says, addressing both Moose and Terry. She turns to Terry. So I guess one of the teachers finally got tenure and decided to risk something for their kids? I don't believe it. A small, playful grin appears on her face. It's okay; when I head off of school grounds, I have to wait until school security is distracted. At the time, I thought they were the only ones that...
Her voice trails off as Ashley enters the cafe rather loudly. While ordinarily she would not mind, as it had always been the status quo that the cheerleaders would get the attention, but Jen was enjoying this particular conversation. When Ashley greets her, she is surprised and only manages a feeble wave in return.
Hi Cooper. She accompanies the greeting with a shy wave. While he might not know her name, she was usually perceptive and knew everyone, though that was more often than not a one-sided relationship.

Aiden Frost |

"And I suppose you like your coffee disguised by lots of milk?" He says this playfully.
"I'll get whatever drink you want. While I'm gone, why don't you invite Mr. Aeronautics over?"
Aiden trots off to the counter. He waits in line until Ashley's done with her other clients.
Ashley, I don't know if we know each other or not. I only singled you out so we could interact when you're ready.

Floyd Prince Tanner |
Floyd was slightly disappointed that the only obvious notice of his plane was by the two at the table. He figured that someone would see this random paper airplane flying across a bookstore. It couldn't be that common, he hoped. At least he did get a friendly wave from Adina, who at this point seemed to be impossible to bewilder. He went back to drinking the strawberry milkshake feeling like his only chance at motivating himself had flown out the window. Unfortunately, it had been sitting there long enough that it was considerably less thick than it used to be, not that it ruins the flavor just messes with the texture; Floyd oddly enough values texture as much, if not more than, flavor.
Things seemed to move on as normal during the next minute or so, and just before his brain shut off the conversations going on in the store, he heard Adina suggest that they invite him over. At first, he wasn't sure that he heard correctly. After Aiden agreed to it, Floyd simply shrugged his shoulders, grabbed the last blank sheet of paper from the text book, and switched to the other table bringing his drink along for the adventure.
I guess I'm not so hot this first impression thing either. At least Aiden set the bar low, he thought with a smile before introducing himself. His parents raised - or rather trained would be a better word in this case - a chivalrous young man; Floyd wouldn't feel right without properly introducing himself to a fair maiden. He set the paper and drink down on the table, and then bowed like the gentleman he was supposed to be.
"My name is Floyd, Floyd Tanner, Ms. Adina. Friendly pilot, smart slacker, and acting extraordinaire, at your service." His voice was calm and warm in his sincerity and his humor. At least one good thing came from performing in plays: he wasn't afraid to talk to or in front of people, including ladies his own age. He stood up from the bow and held out his hand for a nice handshake. "It's nice to meet you."
Random side question for the DM: when we are away in the new world, will time be moving at the same pace as it is in this world? Will it act like a Narnia-esque deal where we return back to this world at this same time period reversing any physical aging that may or may not happen? Or will time itself just proceed for both worlds but at different rates?

Adina Eyvendr |

"Milk? Only for certain coffees." Adina replies just as playfully, giving him the name of several drinks he should try.
When Floyd comes over and actually bows, Adina blushes ever so slightly. She had not expected that! She shakes his hand with grace.
"It's nice to meet you to, Mr. Floyd. Please, have a seat. Did I hear correctly when you said you were an actor? I have much respect for the performing artists who can handle that type of stress. But we can talk about the stage later, right now I'd like to know it you would teach to make the paper airplane you flew near Aiden and I."

Floyd Prince Tanner |
Floyd always tried to pay attention to the subtle things when he could. The way she returns a similar kind of energy and feeling to Aiden's statements and questions and the slight blush that the bow and introduction caused were just those kinds of things. Ha, caught her at least slightly there with the bow.
"Yep, I act in the school plays. I think I've been in every one these past four years." As he was speaking he took the seat opposite of where Aiden had been earlier and took another drink from his milkshake before grabbing the sheet of paper. He was slightly amused that the paper airplane would actually get him invited to the table and was more than happy to show her how to make one for herself.
"This kind of airplane is a little more complicated than a standard one, but it works very well and can be folded with ease once you get the hang of it. It starts with a hot dog fold for the baseline." His voice was naturally deep, and depending on his mood, it had a strangely calming effect and could be considered his most attractive feature.

Aiden Frost |

While waiting in line, Aiden glances back at Adina only to see that Floyd kid trying to charm her. That figures. Hot blood starts to dance under the skin on his face as his Irish temper starts to flare. Easy boyo, nothing to be mad at if he's out of you seat when you get back
A man's voice cuts in on Aiden's thoughts.
"Can I help you?"
Aiden shakes his head to refocus. "Uh yeah. I need, um, two turkey and pestos and two machiatos please."
He waits impatiently for his items and scoops them from Ashley's hands before she can finish calling out the order. Aiden walks with purpose back to Adina's table. Be calm
He slides her sandwich and coffee gently onto the table. "There you are lassie."
He stands, holding his items and looks straight at Floyd. "I'm sorry brother. I've been sitting there. D'you mind being a sport and scooting over a space for me?"
