Thinking of starting a Dresden Files or Shadowrun 4e game

Gamer Connection

Obviously I'm crazy. I have 2 games playing and one dming... and it's not enough for me. Any interest in shadowrun or dresden files?

If dresden we woukd build cities together, though I would be final judge. Shadowrun would be some form of non standard game. The same old boring shadow team annoys me, but I'd be open to suggestions beyond that.

I may run both games if there's enough interest/I get excited enough.

And, as per my usual rule. I will, if possible, have one first time pbp player in both games.

I am in for Shadowrun 4e. I have the book for that one and have been looking for a game since December. I would really like to step away from the fantasy side of things for a sec and do a little "running." For setting, what city would you want to run this thing in? I think somewhere away from the usual metroplexes in Seattle or NY would be cool. Not a wilderness game, just a different metro area.

I already started Ideas for a dresden files: Boston game... If it starts after Gencon I'm game for a dresden game I think

Scarab Sages

I'd be up for a Shadowrun game.

Those of you interested in Shadowrun: Feel free to drop a suggestion as to what kind of game/what place/tones/whatever ideas you have.

Liberty's Edge

I might be interested in a Shadowrun game as well.

Military special ops, maybe? Artifact hunting in the wilds of Amazonia? Bug (spirit) hunt?

I'd love to play a Dresden Files game -- I love the setting and would love to try it out.

An SR4 game could be fun, too -- I agree that a useful campaign is the way to go -- if you assemle a decent party with a reason to be together - you get the social aspects and useful RP, and then let the runners hit the streets.

Dark Archive

I would like to Try Playing Dresden, City no preference.

Sovereign Court

I would love to play in a 4e shadowrun game! I also read the dresdan files but don't have the rpg book.

I tried and failed to keep a Shadowrun 4e game going. If I had time I'd love to get in on a Shadowrun game. The last game I was running was set in Bismark, ND. The characters were at the airport when a military cargo plane crashed and let lose some mean nanoware. Whoever escaped became the PCs (everyone started with two characters). It was great fun before the group fell apart.

While I'd love to help someone new to it, I don't believe there's any sort of srd-like resource to find things so unless you planned to pick it up I would say it would be very foolish to let you in a dresden game. That said, the game is great, perfectly capturing the character driven structures of the novels with just enough crunch to work with. Almost entirely story driven though. Just some info if you were thinking of checking it out. I suppose that's certainly enough interest for shadowrun. I'll begin a discussion/char building thread in a bit, unless one of you would like to.

There we go, discussion thread for SR is up, head over and chime in.

Liberty's Edge

I'd love to put in for a Shadowrun game myself if I could. I have been doing Pathfinder almost exclusively lately, but am planning on running a SR game for my in person group in a few months. Diving into the setting for a bit would be a lot of fun.

As for the setting itself, I would be up for most things I imagine. Seattle always has a lot going on and has a -ton- of information, obviously. Berlin, with its semi-anarchy feeling has a lot of options. Amazonia was mentioned above and could be very neat if we were working for/against Aztlan.

Well go drop a post in the thread then, Tarlane.
