I'll be running a table in author's alley and I'm also running an unofficial Pathfinder event on Friday evening. (which is, apparently, already full!)
I'll probably be wandering around looking for a game or two on Thursday or Saturday evening as well. There's a Call of Cthulhu scenario I've been meaning to run...

Hey! I actually do...
I'm trying to put together a creative way to propose to my girlfriend at gencon. My initial hope was to do it at one of the pathfinder society events, but any society characters we have are all sub level 5 and all of those events are closed. Pathfinder, as corny as it might sound, is actually one of the cool threads that made us a couple, and I thought it'd be a great way to publicly propose.
Are there any other events anyone knows about that I could work this into? Right now I'm considering the living dungeon event, but Pathfinder would really be what I was hoping for.
Anybody out there who might be able to help me out?

Hey, that sounds great!
Tell you what, maybe I can help? My friday event is full, but I was thinking of doing some kind of impromptu game on Saturday evening.
Do you have nay specific ideas about how you want to work out your proposal?

I plan on playing in a few games (including a Cookie Fu tournament), wandering the dealer hall, and getting a few interviews for my podcast.

I don’t have a ton of events I signed up for. At least one, sometimes two events each day. I don’t like to fill my days up with gaming as it doesn’t give me time to do anything else, like peruse the exhibit hall and bug the employees at Paizo. :)
I did sign up for the three part Shades of Ice PFS scenario with a friend of mine. Those PFS events filled up quick! I was online opening day (for event sign-up) and my original selection for Shades of Ice, part 1, filled up on me before my events were cleared.

Hey Wolfsnap, something like that was exactly what I was hoping for. My girlfriend and I, and 3 of my friends, are coming down to gencon from Canada, and I figured this would be a really cool place to propose. The basic idea in my head was midway through some sort of adventure there is a piece of treasure, or a kid comes running up, or something like that which gave the GM an opportunity to hand a box to me through my character...the GM would hand me the box and then I'd go from there.
Pretty simple thing in my mind, I just want to be able to do it someplace special like gencon...yeah I know, cheesy...with all of my friends present.
What do you think?

I think that sounds great, and I'd love to help out. I'll put on my thinking cap, and I'll see if I can come up with a simple adventure just for you guys. It'll have to be either Thursday evening or Saturday evening after the dealer hall closes. Sound good?
Actually, I've got a couple of ideas right now. Drop me an email and we'll work out some details:

You could try contacting Hyrum or Mark directly, but since they're swamped, they might not be able to help much. The other option is to ask one of the Venture Captains to help you out and we'll see what we could do.

Notpsychoyet:
A Venture Captain is a semi-official volunteer GM that runs lots of PFS adventures. I'm not a venture captain, but I'm more than happy to put together a custom game for you. I've just sent you an email with a few ideas.
Hyrum:
I think all we need is an open table. If Notpsychoyet has his three friends along plus himself and his fiancee, that's five players plus myself as GM. I'm pretty confident we can find a place to play somewhere in the convention center on Thursday evening, but it would be nice to do this somewhere near or around the PFS area.

Hyrum Savage wrote:I'd love to find a way to help. :) I think getting a Venture Captain involved is a sure-fire way for it to happen though. What is a Venture Captain, and how do I get in touch with one?
A Venture Captain is an official volunteer representative of Paizo. We (I am a Venture Captain) are responsible for spreading the word about Pathfinder Society and organizing events. I can assure Wolfsnap that we sometimes have to do more than just GM. ;-)
Now that Hyrum has given this opportunity his blessing, let me see what I can help organize. If you have an extra GM (Wolfsnap), I can see if there is room in the official Pathfinder Society Hall for any one of the given events. If there's room for another table in the Pathfinder Society Special (Friday evening), I'm thinking that might be the perfect opportunity.

Greetings Fu Fighter Greatamericanfolkhero -
Great to hear that! Everyone who signs up for the Cookie Fu tournaments will get a special Fu Fighter's pack: Tournament Placemat, Folding Fan, Special Fortune Cookie, and an ultra rare Ivory Clan dice!
Which one are you playing in? You should check out the open play of the Grandmaster Chi Battles - for Cookie Fu as well. I'll be releasing the Fortune Decks at the con for all those hungry Fu Fighters...
Blue Kabuto will be at Booth 1923, be sure to stop by and see the Grandmaster and his loyal apprentices. ^_^
Keep Fighting,

The Adept tourney. My schg doesn't have enough room for the others (I really wish I could sit and watch the Cookie Fu RPG you're running, but the podcast meet-n-greet is at the same time.)
I got in a few practice bouts tonight and can't wait for the Con!

I'll be running a Free Pathfinder Game at Night Probably Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, as well as a few pick up Pathfinder games. All of these games use a visual dungeon atmosphere using Hirst Arts creations. The Night Campaign is Called the Chronicles of the Short Nine and is a GREAT TIME! There may still be a spot or two open, if interested you can call me during the Con 414-254-1514 Ajax or EMail me at waukeshaantiquemall99@yahoo.com.
All these games are free and a great time, all use Pre-Generated Pathfinder Characters. Due to an actual Open Gaming Area not defined this year, used to be in the Hyatt, we'll need to secure our own area, that will mean that you may have to contact me at the Con.
