Might also help to "humanize" her a bit too. As a ghost I feel its hard for the players to connect with her. maybe even have a side quest to bring her some of her old belongings, some of which could have been stolen by the towns folk. That could give her added strength to slow down TSM. maybe do something like each item pushes back by one day the next time a letter appears.

I like the idea of tying in some of the past of the prison inhabitants. Perhaps, rather than pushing back her name, each item gives the players a specific bonus against one of the 5. For example, returning her book of music gives a bonus against the Piper, while the holy symbol that she got from her grandmother would up the damage the players do to the Father from a d6 to a d8. Each object is somewhere in town, of course and requires more interaction to get.
