Having just converted the old mod, I though I'd give it a run here.

I'm taking 6 People who have never played/read through this module.
To qualify:

1 post a day, M-F
Able to View Flickr

Due to the way this mod runs, we'll be playing by rounds, all the time.
I'll roll a New Int for each room.

Core races/core/apg classes only
10th lvl
20 point buy
62,000 gp
No traits
A small background/ personality is fine, no epic novels needed.
(This is a very deadly mod, don't get too attached)
Everyone gets one "Free" Resurrection, after you have to use the Loot Lives" to keep playing

I'll take the First 6 people to post, and wait list 2 more.
Please have your Characters ready by this Monday.

I really want to try Tomb of Horrors, but at the same time I don't know if I'd do well enough. I don't want to be the cause of a TPK (which, on the other hand, seems to be the entire goal of ToH).

Since this is a 1 off mod, I think i'll just give "Extra Lives" In place of Treasure.

Reincarnate=1000gp
Raise dead=5,000gp
Resurrection=10,000gp

Since this is a 1 off mod, I think i'll just give "Extra Lives" In place of Treasure. I havent decided with we will play untill the whole party is dead, or just cycle in new people as players Die untill the Mod is Finished.

I think I can get a 10thlevel Dwarven trapsmith ready in the time frame. Could be useful here.

I vote cycling in. Whichever player uses the fewest characters wins bragging rights. Similar to Pranoia really.

I think I can conjure a 10th level Cleric by Monday in that case. Probably go Dwarf with Healing and Travel domain. Will make the character and post him (or her, :O) tomorrow.

Edit: Geez, I always forget to swap from my current RP char to my non-RP account.

Yea! Here's to hoping for an all dwarf party!

Hell I will throw a level 10 Inquisitor into the mix.

FOR GORUM!

And yes, Dorf. I should have him done tonight :)

Max HP per level? Average? Or Rolled?

1st level is easy enough but the rest? Not so sure.

Liberty's Edge

So we have a cleric an inquisitor and a trapsmith? I never play the bruiser type but I'll throw one into the mix if you are open to it. Either a fighter or barbarian, will be a good change from my normal thinky types.

Liberty's Edge

Assuming rolled HP, Rolling in case I make a fighter or barbarian

9d10 ⇒ (1, 8, 1, 3, 2, 2, 7, 5, 3) = 32
9d12 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 8, 3, 11, 9, 9, 5) = 54

Edit: Wow, I can't roll.

This is Tomb. We all need the thinky even the meat shield.

Now we just need a universalist wizard with a full blessed book and another fighter type and we just might survive.

To the midpoint anyway.....most of us.....maybe

Sovereign Court

I love this dwarf theme going here!!! Before anyone posted I was thinking of putting up a Dwarven Alchemist i cooked up, because when your in a place called the Tomb of Horrors you really need someone that can make a mean drink!! I'll start Writing up Keggen Brewhammer!!!

Here be Travvor the Bloody, hunter of Gorum! Those who are cowards will face the might of Gorum!

(This is Stomphoof's character hehe!)

Background is a WIP. It will be up tomorrow.

I'd like to throw together a wizard for this one. I am looking at a conjurer, who can supplement the meat shield with some fodder.

hit points 9d8 ⇒ (7, 8, 1, 3, 2, 1, 3, 8, 3) = 36

Oh, with the fighter I'm working on(going to build both fighter and barb and decide which I like better) he has a 12 int, I wasn't talking about just dumping intelligence or anything, but I'm almost always playing the wizard or high int rogue in a game. Last time I was a healer I was an oracle of lore. It will be good to be a bruiser type for once.

My Inquisitor is the melee monster. 6d6+12 possible damage when under Bane? YES PLEASE.

Thats assuming I dont use my spell to make my sword flaming burst either.

Perhaps I'll throw down with a Halfling Rogue super-sneaky type.

not sure where we are on the count, but i could give an oracle a try.

Got a halfling paladin of Erastil been waiting to stat up if yer not all full.

Solarion, how should we calculate health? Do we roll, go for averages, or go for max? I mean, this is the Tomb of You-die-a-horrible-death, so I have a feeling this time it could matter.

Though if rolling is the norm, here's my rolls. And they...were not so good.
9d8 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 4, 4, 6, 1, 5, 1) = 35

Throwing hat into ring if you aren't full, I've always wanted to play this module with 10th level Human 2h style fighter (APG variant fighter rules).

Here's Rygal Archer, the Arrow of Desna. I haven't filled in the HP values yet because I'm awaiting the response as of how we decide HP.

If anything's off with the character (items chosen/spells chosen, ect), please tell me so I can fix it.

His background and appearance isn't really too well done, I figured since this is a "module of death" I'll try to embody the slightly silly.

Travvor here has a backstory and appearence now.

No HP set yet since we are waiting to find out how to do that (rolled, average, max)

Am working on an Orc Wizard by the name of Bromborax, will post details as soon as I can.
Basic background will be included.

Dark Archive

For HP, Roll. If your total is Lower than Average hp, then you can take the Average.

The group we have sofar.

Patcher: (Cleric)
Poor Wandering One: Trapsmith (rogue)
Stomphoof: Travvor the Bloody, (Inquisitor)
Tarlane: (fighter/ barbarian)
Roidrage: (Alchemist)
markofbane: (wizard)

wait list
Monkeygod: Rogue
angryscrub: ?
Jaycen Keenword: paladin
Ekeebe: fighter
Jestem: Wizard

I'll post the ooc thread in a bit, IF you're intrested on the wait list, post there saying so please :-)

Alright, thanks for clearing it up. Now I'm just wondering, is average for d8 4 or 5? Or do I go 4.5?

4.5, round up the Total.

41 for me then. Since I rolled 35, my average is higher. Character sheet will be updated with actual HP in a sec.

Hey there,
Just got Bromborax up and running as a character. Up as one of the aliases on my account, with the link here

HP roll for my inquisitor, 10d8

10d8 ⇒ (7, 3, 3, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 7, 4) = 34

41 HP for me then, average is higher, updating character sheet

I rolled for mine, or rather used PCGEN (program I downloaded) to create Bromborax. Let me know if you dont like anything on there

I would like to get a char going for this one. He will be a thinker alchemist/fighter type.

I we are full at this point, 6 players, and 6 on the wait list. sorry.

Hit points for Molasbar, wizard for Markofbane.

10d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 1, 6, 3) = 32

So average would be higher, at 35.

Liberty's Edge

Just to keep up with where I stand, fighter was finished last night, will make the barbarian today and sort of compare the two to see which I like better and which fits better with the rest of the group. The fighter was designed to be more of a hard hitter and harrier(had the step up, following step, step and strike feats), I think the barbarian was going to be a bit more of an actual 'tank'(I was considering invulnerable rager).

If our inquisitor is going to be the hard hitter in the group I might end up going with the barbarian.

Sounds like an interesting concept to have a Harrier Fighter. I must admit I like the idea, and may borrow it in my own pathfinder game if you don't mind Tarlane?

Liberty's Edge

No problem at all, Jestem. I was pretty impressed with how well it worked as I started putting feats together. Could do a lot of damage with a hit and get a lot of hits in that way while keeping enemies from moving out of range. They can't just pull back that way to get away from a full attack next round, get to go after them, hit them as an AOO because they tried to move away, and then still open up on them in my turn.

In other words it is a build that would cause me one heck of a headache if my players used it in my game that I run each week, thank god that they dont look at the forums here!!!

dot for interest.

Never played ToH, I know your full but I'm gona hammer out a ranged bard for the wait list.

Sigs here.

6d8 + 3d10 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 5, 3, 1) + (2, 10, 5) = 37, Average would be 43.

Average it is.

I read through this module many years ago and even though I don't remember the details, I DO remember the deadliness of it. And when Solarious mentioned "don't get to attached to your pc"... yeah, he's not lying.

All I can say is good luck. You are going to need it! ;)

(That and several back up characters. Just sayin'.) :)

Meet Alumiel, elven paragon.

Mundane equipment left but otherwise ready to go :)

Ready to go.

Oh, dang... I missed that..

Sheesh this is a tough adventure 2 characters gone and we haven't even opened a single door.

I think Lord Medolark's presence is requested in the OOC thread.

Sorry if I'm jumping the gun GM.

Yup, Looks like the wait List has 2 slots open if anyone is intrested.
