I was thinking about giving Dekem a side quest to run through to keep him from getting bored while the bandit camp is taken care of. I will have to think about what will be challenging with out overwhelming for a single 1st level character.

I was setting up a equipment list and other online enhancements on a separate website through google. I will leave it at the Narrater Alias as an open link. Look around the site and let me know what you think. I haven't been able to personalize it yet. Once I have a familiarity with the program I may make more significant adjustments to it. There is a place to put character info but it isn't necessary to make use of it. However I was planning on placing group loot as well as recurring NPCs there for easy tracking. Once we get to kingdom building I will try to add that information to the site as well.

On a unrelated note I was wondering the type of plans people have for their characters. If anyone has a prestige class that they wanted to pursue or a important feat trees they wanted to follow. I like to know where players see their character going. Look forward to hearing from everyone.

Male Human Alchemist 1

Right now I'm planning to stick with plain Alchemist. Not sure on exactly what feats I'll go for, either, though medium armor proficiency is likely at some point.

That may change once Ultimate Magic comes out, since it looks like there's some Alchemist love in there. A bunch of Archetypes, at least. Hopefully there'll be some feats too.

I will see what I can do to help your character. I know that this campaign never had Alchemists in mind so I plan to make a few adjustments to provide you with a little help.

AC 21 (20)/T 13/FF 17; CMD 24, HP 76/76

I plan on sticking with Ranger for the most part; I didn't see any prestige classes that really appealed to me. My only dilemma is my combat style- whether to take two-weapon fighting at 2nd level or two-handed style from the APG.

Good to know Pavel. Have either of you looked at the site I set up?

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Checked it out just now; very nice! It'll probably be really handy once we start setting up a kingdom.

Thank you I can't take much credit for it though. Google had a really nice template that I used. I haven't had the time yet to really go in and mess with it yet but I hope with some time I can take it apart and make good use of it.

Male Human Alchemist 1

Well, I wouldn't worry about giving my character anything special. Alchemists make most of their own stuff, and they can use wands of any formula that's on their list...so basically, I can use most of the stuff a wizard can. So I should be fine regardless.

Male Human (Ulfen) Inquisitor 1

Sigurd will be going for an archer build, at least as far as feats go. At the very least, he'll be picking up rapid shot, and probably deadly aim. Assuming you have no house rolls against using it in tandem with Rapid Shot, Manyshot is also likely. Beyond that, I might take a few feats to improve his melee ability, making him a bit of a "switch hitter." He's definitely taking one or feats to make him better with a longbow (improved critical, possibly weapon focus), but is likely to be a bit more unfocused in melee, simply using the best 2-handed simple weapon he can lay his hands on.

As far as skills, he's just going to continue to put ranks into the ones he's already got. He'll be good at stealth, perception (social and otherwise), and moving around in the wilds.

I haven't given much thought to his spell selection yet. I know I'll pick up the relevant "cure" spell for the 1st or 2nd spell of any given spell level. Beyond that, I think I'd like to see if I can work out a solid mixture of spells that improve my own damage, and that directly hinder enemies. Of course, I always throw a few utility spells into the mix! Overall, though, his selection of spells will likely be unusually offensive for a divine caster.

Ah, and he'll probably be sticking with the inquisitor class for his entire career.

all good stuff to know Sigurd. I try to place 1 or 2 pieces of loot per adventure that is catered to characters. Also knowing how your character is going to shape up will let me add in flavored bits that will I hope add to the experience so every one has the chance to shine. The equipment allows a player to excel at the role they wish to fill in the party. I know it isn't completely realistic but I hate giving out all kinds of random items that characters can't or don't want to use because of flavor or what have you. Think of it as Fate:)

Male Human Slacker 3/ Gamer 4 /Teacher 2

Hey guys, I've been thinking about it, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to bow out of the campaign. Between work picking up, a commission from 3rd party publisher, and not being able to view most of the maps (which are going to be a lot more vital once you start building your kingdom), I've got to drop one of my PbPs. Sorry about leaving you hanging, but best of luck to you all in clobbering those louts in the camp.

Male Human Alchemist 1

Sorry to see you go. Good luck with that commission.

Sorry to hear that Sigurd best of luck to you.

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Best of luck, Martinaj!
For the rest of the combat should someone else run Sigurd? I'm sure you've got plenty to juggle already DM.

Yes please and thank you

Male Human Alchemist 1

What's up with the lack of posting?

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

I think robin's on vacation. That leaves just you and me for players. Prepping the maps requires a bit of work, our Narrator could just be busy at the moment.

Mmm...I hope so. But three days without a post, even a "Sorry, busy in RL" post is a bit much. He hasn't posted since Monday.

sorry I had emergency dental surgery on Tuesday putting me out of sorts for the rest of the day and Wednesday I was in classes from 10 am till 8:30 PM got back last night and just crashed should have something up sometime today. I will try to post every day but it will be hard for the next 2 weeks or so because this is the end of the semester and finals are just around the corner.

Me back !

Hum , It seems you use a critical table there ..
If I am right , I would like to state I do not like them at all .

I can appreciate that it isn't every ones cup of tea. To clarify I don't role against a table I select penalties based on the flow of the game. To include no penalty at all especially if the characters appear to be truly screwed over by the dice roles or if I feel it would ruin the flow of the game. I do have a rough guideline that I follow though. In general the penalty should be more annoying then life threatening and should be short lived. losing a weapon is probably the worst you would ever see happen. In your case I figured that you still had your shield to bash with and while not the best weapon it can serve in a pinch. I also have found that in most cases as a DM I see my creatures flub more often then any individual PC due to the number of dice rolls A DM has to make and I am generally not as nice to NPCs.

Having said all that if the general consensus is that people don't like critical failures I will get rid of them.

Male Human Alchemist 1

Hell yeah, critical hit. That's what I'm talking about...maybe.

It's against touch AC, so that 9 MIGHT still confirm if I'm lucky. If not, at least it's still a hit regardless. Hell of a way to make my first attack roll of the game, either way.

May you continue like this !

You still playing Dekem? If you have lost interest with the side quest I will hand wave its end. In real time I imagine the group will be going back to the trading post very soon.

So since we seem to be down one person again I can try and look for another person.

I could set the xp to the speedy track to adjust the loss of people.

or Simon and Pavel could create a second character to play.

out of the question .
Either we recruit 2 at least new people or I'm out of here
No offense but I'm really unconfortable havin a PC played by the DM ( bad experience there )
And roleplaying with ony one person is not fun

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

I'll be back in the swing of things soon, sorry if I'm holding things up here. I'd prefer to look for replacement PCs if we forge on- though it seems like robin's dropped out.

No problem James, this is for fun and is not as important as many of the everyday stuff that happens just let me know when you are ready to play it will also give me a chance to look at finding new people I want to know if you wish to continue Robin.

As I said , I'll be back if we find help

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Glad you'll be in, robin. Let's set up a recruitment thread soon and find a few more people; it shouldn't be too tough to find eager players.

Almost done with the selection process people should start showing up the day after tomorrow. where we will introduce everyone and I will set some ground rules and responsibilities

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Looking forward to it. Book Expo of America is up and running so my posting abilities should be back to normal.

I'm here. Just say when we new people get introduced to the current explorers of The Stolen Lands.

Male Half-orc Wizard 1

Hey all, Shadowborn here.

This is Krebak. He's short and fairly scrawny for a half-orc, not to mention ugly a sin. However, he makes up for it with brains, and he's got all the innate hardiness his orcish descent provides. He's a difficult fellow to get to know, but probably worth the grief of putting up with, given his talents.

I had posted earlier, but didn't realize it was "considering" lol

I present Nefi Lalagos, a pretty female gnome who has difficulty talking with others and often remains quiet and alone, mixing checmicals either either explosive results or various elixers. Quite show she remains quiet, but if in danger she'll keep her distance whilst throwing bombs, but also make sure to avoid harming her own friends.

Coming to the Stolen Lands she hopes to find interesting plants and other natural extracts for her to be able to make new healing agents, alchemical weapons, exotic extracts and Golems to help the never ending battle in Lastwall with the marches into the Hold of Belkzen against the Orc horde that threatens the civilized world.

Edit: Also had a thought that she could start making hairdyes at low level out of different plant extracts to give perminant and strange hair colours to sell to other nations and citizens.

Krebak: could you place the type of animal your familiar is in the familiar block. I believe you have one language to many.

Nefi: Your spear melee attack is -1 to hit shouldn’t it be a -2 because of strength?

"I get the fuh'feeling Simon'll have to do all the tuh'talking."

Being small I gain a +1 to all attacks and AC. That's why I like small characters. :)

Sorry, I'd placed his type in the special abilities line in the left column, but not in the actual block. *facepalm*

As for languages: Starts with Common and Orc, plus three for his Int modifier, plus one for a rank of Linguistics, so I think that's in order.

"Nuh'now I am, if you can't do buh'better than 'skuh'skip-tongue'. Would have ju'just knocked yer tuh'teeth in if I could tell which end was whuh'which."

Male Half-orc Wizard 1

"Oh, yes. Go ahead and make fun of the half-orc for how ugly he is. That's real original. Then follow it up with threats of violence. You humans are all alike. Nothing but prejudice and disdain wherever I go. Freedom in the River Kingdoms my hairy, green butt! I suppose I should just forget about impressing you with my intelligence and give you what you expect."

Krebak grabs his greataxe and hefts it over his head, pumping it up and down for emphasis.

"Humans make Krebak mad! Me hack you up good. Rawwwrr!"

He lowers his axe and rolls his eyes in disgust.

"Never mind. I don't know why I bother trying to reason with the likes of you anyway. Yeah, go ahead and let that other guy do all the talking. I'll just stand here in the background and look menacing."

"Now, now boys. Please, calm yourselves." squeaks the female gnome "I'm sure he, err, meant to no harm. People have a lot of expectations and prejudices." she sighed as she looks back over her chemicals, seemingly have grown bored with the confrontation and looking over her concotions.

AC 21 (20)/T 13/FF 17; CMD 24, HP 76/76

Pavel shrugs.
"Ju'just sayin' he's friendlier and he talks ruh'right. No nuh'need to assume I'm a ruh'racist."

Pavel wrote:

She gives a soft smile whilst tampering with her ingredients.

"He might just be wound up. Just relax and I'm sure things will be fine once we get there." her gnome side clearly coming out when she spoke, however she was still focusing more on her alchemical materials that she has and looking over her mutagen.

Just saying as if we're on our jurney into the stolen lands to meet the others.

This is the OOC thread guys play nice in here. Hopefully everyone will pop in before the days end so we can get everything properly setup for the game.

We're waiting for someone? Also I'm sure it's just a bit of roleplaying and no real threats or badblood between anyone.

Nope, no bad blood. I'm enjoying the paladin James is playing in my Wounded Earth campaign too much for there to be any bad blood. That's just an object lesson on why Krebak's charisma score is so low. He's quick to offense and has a big chip on his shoulder. Add in a large helping of low self-esteem and his inherited looks and, well...
