Making a semi undead character. help!

Hello all, I'm making a raise dead cleric for a campaign tomorrow and starting at level 2. I'm curious. Are there any traits or feats or anything where you can pick a race and count it is unread for the purposes of being healed by negative energy?

What would be suggested for this build?

Check out the Dhampir race in the beastiary 2. Its decended from vampires, and is healed by negative energy and vice versa.

You could also check out the Oracle of Bones in the APG. It's not quite a cleric but you definitely get the almost dead action.

Id prefer not to play dhampir, but thank you. And the bones Oracle is my 2nd choice.

There is also i think Necromantic afinity int he world guide.

I have a few questions about this character. If im using animate dead I have to have onyx gems worth 25gp per hit dice? So basically I have to have a bag full of onyx gems, and hope that whatever I am raising matches one of my gems in terms of HD?

Is there an improved animate dead? In the book it says that the spell only works on things that have 15-20 or less HD.

Scarab Sages

Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY undead. There's a big difference between mostly undead and all undead. Mostly undead is slightly alive. With all undead, well, with all undead there's usually only one thing you can do.

So, you are illiterate? Sorry, couldn't resist.

The way I've usually ruled the gem portion of Animate Dead is that you have to have a total worth of onyx gems equal to 25gp per hit die. I can't speak in place of your GM or anyone else really, but the way I do it keeps you from having to have a gem organizer in your pouch to make sure you don't grab the wrong one :)

As far as improved Animate Dead, you will be using Create Undead and then Create Greater Undead to make the more interesting unliving minions. It has been a while since I played a wizard so I am most likely missing some creation spells between Animate Dead and Create Undead.

There were the Deathtouched in Dragon Magazine #313. They could easily be adapted over.

Go through their pockets looking for loose change

EDIT
on a serious note...

Talk to your DM! I am sure in place of a feat he/she may allow you to have the energy inversion you are talking about.

Glutton mentioned the Libris Mortis from 3.5. There is a feat in that book is Gravetouched. (I believe) This feat does exactly what you want

the feat from libris Mortis is tomb tainted soul. however it isn't really needed as Pf has necromantic affinity from the world guide.
personally I think oracle of bones is the best rout fir this sort of character.
