Aww man, Aron. Wish I had seen this a couple of days ago before I picked up a CC game. Good luck, I'll be following along with you guys.

History:
Heraguv's story is more a story of his father than himself, You see, Heraguv's father was a minor Lord in Ustalav who made his fame as a knight by scouring the land of Orcs. Like most in Ustalav, Lord Meneskus believed that they were a blight that had to be wiped out. However, Lord Meneskus wanted an heir more than anything, and as he approached middle age, despite having multiple wives along the way (divorcing when after several barren years), none had ever born him a child. After his last wife died bearing a stillborn child in desperation Lord Meneskus turned to a Varisian fortuneteller who told him that no human woman would ever bear him a living son. At first he fell into a depression, but eventually his depression turned into a wild idea. The fortune teller said no human woman would ever bear him a son, but what about a non-human child. At first he thought of the elves, but knowing their frail constitutions he had no desire to waste years in courting only to have nothing come of it. Thus his eyes turned towards the Orcs. After years of campaigning for their utter annihilation he knew that if his plan became known to the general public that his reputation would be ruined, thus he gathered only his most loyal and trusted vassals and set off on an expedition into the harshest mountains where he knew orcs still claimed territory. However, this time when he captured a small village rather than slaughter them as usual he made a deal. In exhange for tribute being sent into the mountains once a month, the orcs would halt raiding and exchange one female who would stay with lord Meneskus until she bore child, after which she would be returned to the Orc tribe.
The Orc Tribe agreed and selected one of their female warriors to accompany Lord Meneskus back. The female (Orac) agreed to save her clan and traveled with lord Meneskus back to his home. Lord Meneskus plan worked and the female quickly became with child. But something happened that neither of them expected, although at first both held a mutual distaste for each other, as the child grew within her belly Lord Meneskus, so desperate for a child turned into a doting and caring caretaker for the female, who although at first detesting the soft living of the pink skins, slowly came to enjoy it, and with it she found herself starting to care for the man who was so doting in his care for her. Much to Lord Meneskus surprise he grew to look past her race as well, and by the time Heraguv was born, his parents were already wed in a secret ceremony within his manner.
Heraguv Meneskus thus grew up in secret in his family's manner, his parents teaching him. Named for both his mother's clan and his fathers line he actually has no real first name, Heraguv is the orc clan of his mother. His father taught him of knighthood and chivalry and the responsibilities of lordship, and his mother of survival, and how to use his anger and ferocity in combat. Private tutors would be summoned and it was one such that Heraguv grew particularly fond of professor Petros Lorrimor. As the years passed his father slowly started letting his son be known in his territory, His people started to accept the strange union and Heraguv started to be welcome as an up and coming squire. That all ended however when one day his mother went to market and a traveling merchant, unfamiliar with the ladies status, mocked and insulted her. It only took seconds but her Orcish rage boiled over and before she regained herself the man lied dead at her feet, his throat torn out by her bear hands. Lord Meneskus attempted to cover up his wifes misdeeds and probably would have gotten away with it, however Heraguv having been raised to so thouroughly believe in honor and chivalry and law could not accept the cover up. He wrote to authorities in Caliphas who sent members of Lord Meneskus's knightly order to deal with the crime. Heraguv told his father what he had done, his father forgave Heraguv, told his wife to flee (knowing that as an Orc she would be killed for her crimes and that the penalty was unavoidable) and as the knights approached the castle Lord Meneskus settled his affairs with his lawyers and hung himself.
Although Heraguv was rightful heir, he blames himself for his fathers death and has thus taken an oath that he shall not return to his lands to rule until he has attoned for his faults in battle and restored the now tarnished Meneskus name. Although he set up a vassal-lord and maintains regular correspondance, which is how he learned of the Professor's death and has subsequently headed to Ravengro.

Assuming this is still recruiting, I'd like to submit my Changeling Ninja here (something the likes of which I never thought I would say again after high school). I can change race and class to human/rogue without messing up the concept too much, at least mechanics wise.

Background cut for space:
One more waif on the streets of Caliphas, Dariyia was exactly the sort one would expect to number among the city's frequent disappearances.

As a young child she had an unearthly air about her. Her features seemed unusually pale, with hair that seemed to shimmer in the moonlight. But she started to wear her bangs over her eyes to conceal her most striking feature - while her right eye was merely an unusually piercing green, her left glittered like a blood-red ruby.

Even more shocking were the things she could do at a young age. She seemed to appear and disappear much like a ghost. She sometimes seemed to understand what people were saying, even if they spoke in languages she had never heard before. And when she talked to people, it was almost as if her words wove a spell over them that they didn't notice until later.

In a country like Ustalav, the strange and different usually has a low tolerance. Dariyia's family probably showed a bit more tolerance than most, but one day, the inevitable came. She was informed that she was a foundling, taken in and brought to the city as a baby and then raised as one of theirs.

That night she was told to pack up and get out of the house.

The streets of Caliphas are not safe at night, and for a young girl it seemed they would be a death sentence. But Dariyia was a reasonably smart girl, and she took to life on the streets with her unusual talents the way many might take to a trade. Even better, her ability to manipulate seemed to lie only within her, leaving her targets unable to detect the deception with magic later.

The life of a common grifter and cutpurse was interrupted only by a recent event. As Professor Lorrimor made his last journey through the capital, Dariyia finally made what should have been a career-ending mistake by targeting him. Instead, in the night the hungry spawn of a vampire came upon the both of them as she was in the middle of her scam. Only a timely warning from Dariyia, who spotted it first, saved the both of them from its' claws.

It seemed thanks enough at the time that he didn't report her to the authorities, but some months later a courier found her with an unusual summons. With dreams of wealth and luxury in her heart, Dariyia abandoned life in Caliphas to answer the summons.

She could always go back if it turned out the professor had the last laugh.

@Dariyia

No Ninja's. As I said at the front page, only core and APG classes. I had also just made my decision before seeing this post, sorry.

It was very hard with so many good choices it's been difficult to choose between. Hell more-or-less impossible.

Carrion Crown Party:

1: Morbury Dedlok: Dhampire Paladin

2: Skyrn, Son of Maekar: Human Barbarian

3: Rauno Redpath: Tiefling Wizard

4: Darcy Sparrow: Human Rogue

Keep your eyes on this threat as I will post the PBP and OOC thread later. Right now I better head to bed or I won't get up in the morning to help my mum :)

Sovereign Court

Ouch, oh well, Cest la Vie, thanks for considering me.

Curses. Well, it happens. Thanks for the consideration.

Anybody else in here interested in DM-ing a Carrion Crown with some of the folks who were rejected?

I don't envy you that decision, but thanks for considering me, and have fun.

Ok. Thanks for the consideration, Aron. Enjoy ur gaming.

FYI, it looks like Darcy Sparrow was picked up in the same game TarkXT and Poor Wandering One joined.

*nods* Happy Gaming to you all!

Thanks for the invite. I got accepted in both games...go figure...but since I applied to this one first, I think I'm going to join in the fun here. Thanks again for the opportunity, and look forward to getting started.

Thanks for considering me.

Alright, here we go:

Carrion Crown Part 1

Carrion Crown OOC

I'd like to offer this fellow up for this game. All the main information is in the profile, but the main idea is an eccentric fighter who focuses on adaptability--improvised weapons in particular.

EDIT: Just like to say that I prefer pirates to ninjas. Well, you snooze, you lose. That'll teach me to wait too long for one game.

Hi Aron,

Just got over here, will be updating Parneth Servais to accommodate the Carrion Crow background and change to a female etc....

This is just to let you know I'm here and ready to join the battle ahead.

Sorry but I have already made the decision so you two are a little late.

I didn't know that you were having problems Deevor and when I found out with Smerg who stated he was in another group then I gave up the spaces.

Sorry, didn't let you know on the other game thread as it went very quiet after the initial ideas that we threw about I kinda thought you knew I was serious about this game. I have been out of internet reach for the since last Wednesday with a RL issues (ones you hopefully won't go through), so little chance to discuss you game. Oh well.
