As 2 out of our 5 players were out of town, we decided to have a playtest night this week. Our usual DM grabbed a copy of GameMastery's Hollow's Last Hope (level 1 adventure) out of his files and our group consisted of a Magus, Gunslinger, and Witch.
We didn't get very far through the adventure as we had to roll up new characters and get organized first, but we did have several encounters which let me try out some of the various class features the Gunslinger has.

First encounter:
We were beset by 2 wolves while walking through the forest. They had the high initiative and charged us. One went for the Magus and the other went for me.
I took a 5 foot step back, aimed my pistol and fired (d20 + 4dex + 1bab + 1pointblank = 15) against touch AC as it was in the first range increment. It was an easy hit for 3 damage (1d8 + 1pointblank). I used my move action to reload.
The wolf attacking me crit on its attack. We were using crit cards and it knocked me prone as well as hitting me for 6 damage.
Being as I was prone, I did something relatively stupid and took advantage of the fact you can shoot a gun while laying there on the ground. I asked my DM if I could take my 5 foot step as a 5 foot roll instead and remain prone. I fired my pistol and hit for 6 damage. Instead of standing up, I reloaded as my move action (yeah, dumb move, I know).
The wolf attacked again and hit me for another 6 damage reducing me down to 1 hitpoint.
I do another 5 foot roll and fire. However, I rolled a 1 on my attack and the weapon misfires. I use 1 of my 2 grit to clear the weapon as a move action and thus am still prone.
The wolf I'm fighting looks pretty bad, so the Magus shakes off the one he's fighting and comes over to kill my wolf with one hit.
Being as my gun is now cleared, I reload as a move action and fire at the remaining wolf. I roll a natural 20 and confirm the critical hit. I do something around 22 damage with the pistol and finish off the 2nd wolf and regaining my single lost grit.
We head a little further into the forest. That night, we have a quick encounter with a Tatzlwyrm. There isn't much to speak of regarding that fight, because we essentially frightened it off. I had run up and was 30 feet away, so I spent a single grit point and used Deadeye to take a -2 to attacks outside of the first range increment, but still use touch AC. It was outside the 1st range increment, so that was another -2 for a total of -4 to my attack roll. I rolled a 11+6-4 for 13 and hit doing around 5 damage. The Tatzlwyrm didn't like my boomstick and decided to run off.
We slept the rest of the night and my grit recharged back up to 3.
We ended up having an encounter against a hobgoblin the following day. He and I both got ranged attacks off in the surprise round. I used burned a grit point for Gunslinger's Dodge and dropped prone for +4 bonus to AC, but the DM rolled a natural 20 on his attack with a natural 20 confirming the critical hit and thus making my use of the grit point worthless. The crit card ruled that I was disarmed. My attack was a miss.
The Magus used Hydraulic Push and knocked the Hobgoblin prone and we quickly finished him off.
That's all we got finished as far as encounters.
As far as skills go, I ended up using Knowledge (Local), Survival, Stealth, Perception, Handle Animal, and Sleight of Hand during the module to fair results.
All in all, this version of the gunslinger was pretty fun. Reloading the single pistol as a move action wasn't bad and eventually upgrading to alchemical ammunition (and a second pistol) would end up working pretty well from the feel I got.
I had a lot of fun rolling the 4x crit damage.
I really like this implementation as far as a level 1 character goes. I was about on par with the Magus as far as damage. He has extra spell damage he can do, but my crits keep me competitive.
One problem I did have (and went into the game being a little apprehensive about) was getting a grit back for killing shots. We didn't try to abuse that feature, but it still feels a little too open for meta-gaming. I'm not sure what the answer for that one is. Also, with a 4x crit on the weapon, if I do crit late in the fight, I'll probably kill the target anyway.
