Now this is just speculation but I don't feel this thread is moot. As we wait for public opinion and the authority to come along with my view point I think this thread serves a vast importantance and to call it moot is insultive to the people who work hard on bringing us this very thread.
Futhermore I disagree with your defination of moot...atleast as presented in the context you used.

How come when I press 100 on the microwave it skips all the way down to 59 a second after I started? I just don't get it! What happened to the other 40 numbers in between?

You are right it is confusing. It is the whole 60 minutes to the 1 minute thing...it is sooo outdated we need Time 2nd edition. Sure we need to get rid of all our old clocks and items with timers...as there is no backwards compatible...but think of what that would do for the economy.

What??? Counting my tens....that is soo simpleminded any animal can do that. It makes more sense and is much more flexable to have a variable systems in measuremnt.
Anyway the metric system is just for those boards gamers ...I am talking about Time. I don't think Time 2n ed should be based on that new fangled metric system...I mean really been there...done that and is borted with.
But what we based Timed 2nd ed I don't know yet...I think we should go with changing years to be longer so we can live longer though...and not get all depressed as our ages climb really high...I mean I am in my thirties imagine howe happy I would be if I was just three...that would be awesome...
