Eidolon push evolution vs, a charge

Rules Questions

So what happens with a charging character if an eidolon with the push evolution successfully knocks them back 5 ft? does this stop the charge because their movement has been impaired?

Side note- how does this affect a target approaching using a regular move action?

I am assuming you mean a character is charging an Eidolon with Reach, and as the character moves from 10ft away to 5ft away the Eidolon gets an AoO and uses Push to move him back 5ft so he is again 10ft distant?

Good question.

ok I will rephrase the situation.

You have an eidolon with say 15ft reach and the push evolution which allows them to make a combat maneuver check after a successful hit with a specific type of natural attack.

Someone charges your eidolon provoking an AoO. your eidolon hits, and succeeds on their combat maneuver check pushing the attacker back.

What happens now? Has their charge been stopped/interrupted or can they continue advancing?

Now take the same situation but the enemy is not charging but just using a move action to approach. They provoke an AoO and get pushed back 5 ft. can they keep going forward like they were before without spending another move action?

1) I would say the charge is interrupted.

2) If the person has move movement in their move I'd let them finish it out. If that was the end of their move, they'd have to take another move to .. move. I'd not maket he movement caused by Big E to count against the character- but they would have to move through the space again.

I would say they would be able to continue the charge so long as they still have the movement, but they would also provoke another AoO as they move back into the square they were just pushed out of.

the only reason I think a charge would be interrupted is because of this:

"You must have a clear path toward the opponent, and nothing can hinder your movement (such as difficult terrain or obstacles)."

But this line is more related to plotting a charge. But being knocked back 5 ft seems like it would hinder your movement and thus stop your charge.

+1 - Charge is stopped.

Also, Mr. Alarm, only one AoO per enemy, even if you have Combat Reflexes.
