I wasn't meaning to offend or insult anyone. Just one of those 'player things' that every DM faces. :)
I enjoy watching Winter adapting to life in the big city. I just hope he doesn't become calloused to everything happening around him.
And to be honest, moments like Lora, and Kaylen doing whatever it is she's doing, I enjoy more than the scripted scenes.
Forces me to dig deeper into the module and overall campaign to find ways to tie everything tighter together.

It's all good :)
Yeah I can see him just ticking on, and on, and on... much to the dismay of the dark hearted party members. Though they might chip and jibe at him, he knows deep down (reeeeeeallly deeeep doooown) that they know he's right and they agree with him, they just don't know how to express their love for their fellow man.
I think its like that old line about 'give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference'... Candle in the darkness :p
When I was thinking of the character, the questionI was asking myself was 'how can you play a Paladin in a dingy setting, where the party is probably not made up of good guys, but still be true to the class and his beliefs'. I worked out that the token Paladin would/could/should be smart enough to realise what battles can and cant be fought, and which would only result in a poor outcome - I think too many people concentrate on playing Lawful Stupid or get caught on absolutes and Quixotic ideas, I suspect a Paladin would have more depth than that. In this case Winter is a Cleric, but notionally he is still a crusader for his high ideals... (though I could see a dip in Pally depending on how the campaign unfolds).

I'm loving the moral and ethic dilemmas we are facing and Winter is playing his part so very well. It's nice to see an alignment played correctly. I think everybody is doing a grand job of making the alignment matche their character and not vice versa.
Who knows, if Winter does his job maybe we'll all be Erastilians... Erastilites... followers of Erastil! Or... we won't :P

Bree doesn't really care what you talk about nor how much you talk about it, as long as you aren't taking actions that put her neck on the block :)
I agree with Sable, I think you are doing an excellent job of staying true to your character without being bull-headed, or as you said, Lawful Stupid! It's the difference of being Winter who is a Cleric, and a Cleric who happens to be named Winter.

Wow, they OK?
Yeah occupational hazard, we get used to it :p
We freeze in winter, and get heatstroke in Summer - welcome to Australia!
I will be away mid May and mid June doing some 3 dayers out in the cold, but July will suck as I will be out in the wilds for 17 days, and the overnight temp can sit (according to the averages) all the way down to -5.4c. Horrible, and worse if you are wet.

Going to be able to play, or will Winter go off on his own for some side-adventuring?

I'm down for 01-17JUL11 for a happy trip to some cold cold turf in the Australian bush, not far from where people go skiing for leisure :) there will be no real communication with the 'real world' for most of this (as we will be deep in the boonies!)

Awesome. I have a few friends and family members here who have either been and retired, or are just going in now. One guy I grew up with just went off for his last bout of training before he gets shipped to Africa for two years.

Of all the places you could get shipped, that would be somewhere near the bottom of the list for me.

I'm not sure where in Africa he's going too, but he seemed to be optimistic about it.

I actually just got off the phone with my uncle after a 2 1/2 hour conversation. He was diagnosed with leukemia about 3 weeks after his wife died from cancer back in December. He's been feeling really lonely since she died and has been calling frequently just to talk. One of the things we spoke about tonight was his travels during his 20 years in the Air Force. He was telling me about his time in Korea and the things he saw and did there, and he was telling me about what it was like for him to be in Desert Storm. Mostly though, we talked about his deceased wife and the trip he's planning on taking to visit his family here in Kansas in a few weeks.
Anyway, I think I had better get to bed, it's almost 3 am where I'm at and I'm sure my daughter will be up by 9 am. So, have fun everyone!

I did, only to be woken up 2 1/2 hours later by my 3-year-old who is going through this phase where she has been waking up in the middle of the night (from what appears to be bad dreams) but instead of going back to sleep, she seems to think it's time to get up and play. It was at least 45 minutes before she went back to sleep, and about another 30 before I could fall back deeply asleep. Yay! I'll get to sleep in tomorrow though, she goes to her dad's house tonight.

Mhmm, fantastic. I've got a concert I'm going to tonight too, I'm sure that will wake me right up :P

Avalanche Tour with Stone Sour, Theory of a Deadman, Skillet and Halestorm. I'm actually not real big on crowds, but I was invited to go along with my best friend and her boyfriend so I figured why not? I need to get out more and away from this computer, lol.

I remember the joys of 2.5 year olds.
Kids are pretty fun, but geez they can be tiring... they are like ferrets, how can they have so much go on no sleep!?
And how!
My best friend has four ferrets, yeah me and my friends all have weird pets it seems :P

Well everybody, I'm off! Have a great weekend, enjoy any holiday you may or may not celebrate!
Have fun, Sable, hurry back :)

I have no freaking clue. I just know that I can't wait for the teenage years when all they want to do is sleep in :) (or at least for when she's old enough to be up alone, so I can sleep in).
Oh, and the concert was awesome. I had a blast :)

So we go to the Easter Show (kind of a big deal) and drop the $85AUD entry fee for myself and my family to get in, but hey we have a great day, awesome rides etc...costs a small fortune after entry, only to get home and to be told that active servicemen and their families get in free on Monday! That would have been good to know, yesterday
Oh well, will just have to go again I suppose...!

Hehehe...
you guys should see this place I'm in now. It's in this little lake-side community. I have a firepit, wilderness all around me--bears!
It's also nice and quiet. :)
Thinking of scaring the neighbors and organizing a LARP :P
When my books get here, we'll be able to start playing again. Looking like Thursday or Friday.
