Chaotic Neutral & Spell Axis

Rules Questions

Question: Can a Chaotic Neutral cleric of a Chaotic Good god cast "good" spells?

Edit: Since a cleric can't cast spells of an alignment opposed to her own or her deity’s, I told a player his CN cleric can't cast "good" spells. I wanted a second opinion.

Yes.

Good and neutral (meaning the neutral on the good-evil-axis) are not opposed. Only evil and lawful spells would be forbidden.

Correct. Chaotic is opposed to Lawful, Evil opposed to Good. Neutral is not opposed to anything. A CN cleric of a CG god could cast Chaotic and Good spells. Evil spells are opposed to their god, while Lawful spells are opposed to both of them.
