We're getting busier, that's for sure. Still not as busy as we'd like (or need) to be, but we have trimmed down to bare bones and have a hope of making budget for once. Some creative marketing should help. I'm hopeful. Unfortunately, I'm always hopeful. :)

Sounds...hopeful.

Sorry to hear that, aeglos. May he rest in peace.

What a terrible thing at the holidays. My heart goes out to her and to all who are hurting in this festive season. I know several FAWTLies have lost loved ones in the past couple of years, and it gets harder at this time of year. Peace be unto you all.

May he RIP.

I don't have one on hand, but I've read it recently. If you've got a question, maybe I could help.

Dirk Nowitzki was voted Sportsman of the year last night. He is the first team-sportsman to win that title (not surpisingly, a TV station promoted a match of our basketball national Team as "Nowitzki vs Russia")

and in case you're curious:
Sport-Women of the year: Magdalena Neuner, Biathlon superstar (yes, Biathlon is a very,VERY big thing in germany)
Sport-Team of the Year: Borussia Dortmund (soccer of course)

So from this I take that A) Dirk plays Basketball. I was unaware that this was a popular sport in Europe. Which is normal American lack of knowledge of the outside world. B) Also was that Biathlon was big anywhere, let alone very, Very big in Germany. C) I already knew Soccer was big in Germany though. It seems be most places, except here where it is mainly a game played by children whose parents drive them to games in minivans, giving rise in the 90's to the moniker the minivan mom.

Dirk plays for Dallas (already pointed out) Basketball before him was not very popular, especally german Basketball, the NBA has a lot of fans here (including me)but german Basketball has the image of a sissy sport for pale Geeks afraid to do real team sport.

Real Team sport means Soccer and Olympic Handball over here.
Popular spectator sports beside these two are Formula 1 racing, Biathlon, ski jumping, alpin skiing.
Tennis and Ice hockey where popular but are struggling today.

The German Soccer Fedaration has 6.7 million members organisd in 25.000 clubs with 177.000 teams

Go for it, CH! I'm not up to competing this year, maybe next. I'll be watching from the sidelines, though.

Also, the zoo yesterday was great. The two Sumatran tiger cubs were out and very active. There was also a koala with a joey about the size of my hand that I didn't even know was going to be there!

Everyone should go to the zoo.

Zoos are so much fun. I think we've been to every zoo in the state, although there is a possibility that we might have missed one. Every one has something unique that makes it cool, even the really little ones. :)

I'm glad you got to see the cute baby animals. :)

There's a really cool quote about why it is important to Claudia to have a secret of her very own. Online searchable texts do not yield it, but I know it is in there.

“Secrets are the kind of adventure she needs. Secrets are safe, and they do much to make you different. On the inside where it counts.”

They seem to spend all their time sleeping and eating. You might want to recruit better special forces.
