I hate geese.
Especially when they leave droppings all over the sidewalks you have to use. Doubly so if they have the runs.
The university I went to had major geese trouble. S@+% everywhere. Geese clogging up the grounds, especially around the ponds and the lake. The bastards would even attack and chase students who were just trying to get to class. Although, that was kind of funny, as long as you aren't the one being chased. It was terrible. I never really gave much thought to geese before that, but it instilled a deep hatred of the f+~+ers in me.

Yeah, wild birds can be very vicious.

Apparently they practice their fighting in their free time. I would imagine a bird has a lot of free time at that.

Ugh.

To be filed under the heading of, "Yes, I know my brain is broken and there is something deeply wrong with me,"
"I threw a party on Saturday" equals "and now I will have random crying fits for the next 48 hours and be convinced that I am a failure as a human being EVEN THOUGH everyone liked the food (dude, no leftovers) and seemed to have a good time.
I did not have a good time, because I was the one person who couldn't leave. I was counting down the hours until all of my husband's kind, funny, charming, I HATE ALL OF YOU EFFERS WHY THE HELL WON'T YOU JUST GO HOME adorable friends left so I could take off my corset and load the dishwasher.

it's frustrating when you are the mistress of ceremonies and can't turn off- a corset must make it even more uncomfortable. I am so very sorry about the crying jags, I hope they are short and over with before you know it.

Yesterday, there were a lot of geese in the empty lot beside my garage. Freehold DM likes to say "photos, or it didn't happen."
:) So,

Photos:

I think that there were at least 40 geese, but there might have been as much as 60.

We descended next to the fourth circle,
Where those wretched creatures writhed --
Old memes, crawling and mewling on the rocky
Soil, scrabbling for someone to care about them.
"These were once-mighty Internet tropes,"
My guide said, stepping out from clawing grasps.
"Chocolate Rain, there, by the fiery chasm;
Gagnam Style, in among the rest. Their
Punishment befits their crime, as they
Must watch each other, over and over,
As we were forced to watch and care
About them. Pity them, in their wretchedness."
And from the mass of moaning memes one
Appeared that I knew well, and was
Aghast to find in this place.
"What The Fox Say?" I cried, and lo
It was he, a blasted shadow of his former
Glory. Behind him he dragged a heavy chain,
Hewn from the millions of views that
Had once been the object of his sin, vainglory.
I reached out my hand to help my old
Beloved meme, but my guide ushered my into
The next circle of Internet Hell: Reddit.

Wow! Two awesome posts in a row!

Love the shirt, LOVE the Dante reference! Woo hoo!

It's Pea Bear's favorite Woot shirt!

Her music teacher in elementary school LOVES that song, so I've heard it sung by children at least once a year for going on... Actually, I'd rather not count how many years. :-)

Of course, Tiny T-Rex is going there now, so no reprieve for me.

But then I wouldn't be so damned lovable.

Awesome!

I love that!

I'm still partial to Gangam Style myself.

:)

It actually literally just came up the other day in our SF game; a character found out that an annoying deity (might) be her father, sort of, kind of, in a roundabout or maybe direct way. As a result of <reasons>, he (or at least a very realistic illusion, or avatar, or something) periodically appears, sort-of-kind-of stops time, and chats with her. Never when it's totally convenient or on her terms, though. Anyway, point is, she was in the middle of trying to research something and he showed up, sort-of-kind-of helped, but in a very irritating patronizing fashion, before, just as she was asking for help, doing the Gangam style "out" (literally just dancing off to nowhere) even though he literally had a magic super-horse, like, right there. The horse then shrugged apologetically, and then also danced out.

Anyway!

On to the superhero show update!

Huzzah!

Daredevil is... well done.

Episode 4:
The way they make Fisk kind of adorable and awkward and just likable... only to end with that scene of incredible violence.

And, of course, to have it be so believable!

That is an amazing villain.

Fisk was my favorite performance.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Daredevil Season 1 was *really* well done. Charlie Cox is great as Matt Murdock, and I simply believe it's the best Wilson Fisk writing and performance that has ever been done.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I could be remembering poorly, but I believe the order of the shows was Daredevil Season 1, Jessica Jones, Daredevil Season 2, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders. I believe The Punisher, Daredevil S3, and Jessica Jones S2 are coming out this year yet, but again, I'm working off memory and could be wildly wrong.

That is pretty close to what Wikipedia suggested, yeah - I'm not looking right now, but it was something akin to that.

In any event, I'm in.

Also, it took me a while to recover after the trauma, but for those of you who've seen it, I'm pretty sure you remember: that part where the lights go out and Claire starts laughing? Holy carpmonkeys. HOOOOOOOly CARPmonkeys. That laugh. That whole... thing. Mm.

Claire is much... harder in this series than Iron Fist, in some ways. But the surprising part is that I believe she's the same character. That's impressive.

Spoiler:
Also, I'm surprised that she kissed Matt! I kind of thought Od read she wasn't a love interest? Hmmmm... Regardless, it's a very believable relationship!

Also, Fisk is... well, it's excellently done. Just... phenomenal.

It's also funny. If heard people rave about how good the fight scenes were. I just kind of accepted it. My word, though. Some of them are, hands down, some of the best. The entire show is so well shot, so excellently paced, and so... solid... woof.

Also super grim-dark. Like, wow. But good nonetheless.
