Thanks for the inspiration, Kajehase! I hope you all enjoy the encounter.

Whee, I'm helping!
How did you like it?

Since I like to be somewhat comprehensible, I'll report back after work, dinner, and some sleep.

Yeah, I sleep naked. So?

Guess there's an opening at Paizo for rules-designers.

Dark Archive

Morning FaWtL folk. Hope you've all slept well and have a grand auld day today. No rainbow in the end yesterday, but the weather was lovely, not as cold at all, really. Today is a little dreary, but dry so far. Another late night, this time playing Risk of Rain with a friend, while pretending the various monsters were execs from our internet provider, who is being entirely unhelpful with recent network connection issues. Ah well.

I would have said blackjack, but blow works too. :D

Doesn't everyone? :P

Last thing to share before I go to bed - remember earlier when I had said I was going to be editing QUILTBAG erotica? The company liked my work so much they want me to become one of their editors full time. I'm not going to be able to quit any of my jobs, but I'm getting another contract to back for the third job with better pay and benefits as a full editor.

I'm happy. Very happy. Also a little drunk.

'grats! :D

It early morning once again and I beat Aberzombie to the punch with the first serious morning post.

I have nothing special to say except eat a healthy breskfast and drvie safely.

Thank you and my the Force be withyou.

My head...

Also skr leaving? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I predict equal parts lamentation and jubilation among the forums.

Either way, he'll be missed.

One o' clock - Sweden's women nabs the bronze in the cross country sprint relay.
Half past one - Sweden's men does the same
Five to two - Sweden's curling women wins their semi-final (against Switzerland).

Pretty pleased I stayed up an hour longer than usual after Wednesday's work.

Scarab Sages

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Wednesday! Maybe. Still too early to tell. It's supposed to be cloudy, though. And we've got project meetings today. So we'll see.

Not if we aim carefully.

I found two really cool websites showcasing storage furniture for comic books. One comany is, unfortunately, not taking orders at this time, according to their website. The other makes things custom when you order. I've sent out some email inquiries, so we'll see what happens.

Although, given time I could probably build some myself, but that's really time I don't have. Besides which, I'd have to spend a bit of money to get the correct tools for the job.

Also, knock on wood, things are starting to look more promising on the weather front for this weekend. Huzzah!

My head is still a little fuzzy. But I want to thank everyone for their well wishes.

Scarab Sages

Ah well, there are things to be done, and I'm burning daylight. Goodbye for now.

Starting to get snowy?

Comic book day. Weeeeee. I get to pay bills as well.

My Paizo order still hasn't arrived.

Congrats, Freehold!

And it's lamentations for SKR's removal to the wilds of Indiana here.

Naked and incomprehensible gets you institutionalized. So I've heard...

I am so totally going to use this. I think I'm going to tweak it a bit and go with a ravenloft feel. The ship is encountered during a still foggy night traveling across the sea. The "captain" is a skeleton with rats crawling through his bones controlling his actions. Anyone who hits the skeloton releases a ghost rat swarm.

Neat! Orthos's encounter was chosen to be the sample encounter for Raging Swan's Wilderness Encounters preview.

Woo!!

Hello!

Back from work.

I am feeling sleepy and overall meh. I don't have a headache but something I could call pre-headache... I hope I will get a chance to go to sleep earlier today, like at 22:00.

Get some sleep, Drejk!

I think I might get a nap.

So much for writing now, though.

I feel your pain!

I was so tired yesterday, I nearly fell asleep in Karate class.
Not 'almost fainted' mind you, almost fell asleep, while actively participating IN class!

Yeah, I went home and went to bed too. :P

Have a nice nap Drejk! :D

Nice scary ship Taig. Seems a bit,... did I mention scary?
(Incorporeal AND swarm?!? Have you been taking evil lessons or something?!?) Nice work. ;)

Heya, all!

nomuch

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ORTHOS ORTHOS ORTHOS!

I am going to start working on the Rangers tonight so I can join in the homebrew happiness. Or at least get closer to being able to celebrate with folks. Also need to finalize some things with kingmaker and Darklight Sisterhood games. I have decided that iron gods is going to be kingmaker the next generation. Can't wait for that ap.

Ok, I napped for an hour and was waking up for another hour.

Run, Arizonans, run!

What is eating so much internet? Facebook? MAA probably... Anything else?

Note to self: Programming for a bank account is a lot harder than the instructor made it sound.

I couldn't imagine falling asleep during physical exertion.

As for the ship, I think I'm overcompensating. :)

Time to send parents to their beds and go to sleep myself...

So it's my finale of my game tomorrow (although it might run onto next week, but I could use some advise on an encounter:

Thasilonian Pool:
This pool shimmers with a radiant glow, at once all colours of the spectrum and it has an inner luminousity. Your skin tingles gently and the Chalice of Sarenrae glistens resonantly, at the very edge of your hearing it seems to hum resonantly.

Sunk into the floor, around the lip is inscribed in a silvery metal (mithril) is runes (Thassilonian).

"The Spirit of Gaia hold the power to the Land;
With it consumed the world is at hand."

Hopefully they'll drink from it, this will give them a temporary affect, a permanent stat boost and potentially give them access/reason to progress into Mythic.

+1d2 to a random Stat (permanent) & Roll 1d10:
1 or less: Takes 1d6 HP damage
2: -1 to saves (for 24 hours)
3: Hungry (for 24 hours)
4: Hair 2d12 inches
5: +1d4 HP (temp)
6: +1d6 HP (temp)
7: Bless (for 24 hours)
8: +1 to a save (permanent) or Charm Person 1/day
9: Free Feat: Fey Foundling
10+ Something Super!

If they drink again the roll changes to 1d12-1d4, then 1d12-1d6, then 1d12-1d8.

Spoiler:

Overall, it seems fine to me.

Do the stat bumps occur every time a character drinks from the chalice? That seems overpowered, but I might be misunderstanding something.

Also, for consistency's sake, I'd suggest the initial roll be a d12.

Thanks, the stat boosts only occur once. I was going using a d10 the first time, but other times it's a bit more wild - greater possibility of a 10+ or a 1-.

I was also wondering about options for other effects. The group (or 3 of them) can be big on RP options (one of them took Aristocrat for a level - just to fit his concept better).

Perhaps instead of one of the HP bumps, you could offer a permanent bonus (+1 or +2) to a class skill of the character's choice.

I think I'll reveal the latest FF! entry on the next page. There's at most two posts to go on this page...
