Was just finishing my lunch when my branch head came up to tell me he disapproved a training request that came up for me. Told him I didn't remember putting in for a class.

Then I also got an email telling of his disapproval, and realized why I didn't remember. According to the email, the class was schedule for early 2007.

Gotta love it.

Needs to be an entertainer, but not a super popular one (no to Burt Reynolds and Al Pacino). Maybe Gene Hackman? Lee Majors?

Majors has been getting a little long in the tooth. Hackman is still an OK actor.

Happy belated birthday CJ. Hope it was a good one? Did you get anything you wanted for your birthday?

Well this box of reading materials showed up on my doorstep. Money was sent in an envelope along with a card. My wife let me purchase classic gaming material on her card through Amazon this last weekend. not bad per se but everything has been belated.

I prefer birthdays to not having birthdays. Even if the cake now has to be sugar free and wait till payday.

:( to sugar-free cake.

Which might explain why I spend so much time at the dentist's now.

:( to going to the dentist.

Shadow Lodge

I don't do birthdays anymore. The only thing I have to look forward to is moving into a new age category for physical standards.

Huh. I still like birthdays. They're fun. There's really not a lot of difference between how I celebrate birthdays now from how I celebrated when I was a teenager. It may be low-key, but that's the most fun for me since I'm not really a people person. And I don't even mind getting older. It's jkust a number...no one can make me become more mature. ;P

The most I do for them is go out to dinner with the wife.

I love birthdays too. People don't get to feel the love that others bear them very often, and it's important for people to feel special. That's just my sappy take on it.

So what's everyone....roleplaying these days? I'm playing a Paladin/Oracle in a Kingmaker game (got to be the king, which is pretty cool), Running a Carrion Crown game, and prepping a pretty awesome (I think) Basic Role Playing game story arch.

Playing a ranger in a homebrew game. It's a nice change of pace from our last 'save the world' game since it's more focused on bringing law and order to a lawless area on the border between two warring kingdoms.

The only thing I'm running (with help) is a high level pbp set in a magical school...always super fun. :)
And I don't run live games. Ever. I lack the confidence for it. Tried it. Cracked under the stress. Not doing that again. :)

Shadow Lodge

This post has my active characters in it.

I can't wait to get back to Kirth's game. I wish I lived closer to Houston and could game with him more often.

My second Shackled City game is glorious, and I love playing the different NPCs. Especially the evil ones, because I can lie to my players faces and they fall for it. :3 Not to say the good ones aren't fun, but those tend to be more slapstick.

Not a damn thing. I want to mind you. Started running a 1E game with my kids, Keep on the borderlands, however they keep not doing chores or getting poor grades and we keep having to put it off. One half-orc multi-class and one half-elf multi-class. They have only just arrived at the Keep.

I have an idea for a PC. I think he may end up a fighter with the single sword archetype. I will do my best not to cross class with rouge for my idea. He will however dip his first level and only his first in Oracle. Why? For the blindness, of course. Blind sword master!

Of course I am still stuck on my rouge idea of the highest Charisma I can pull off coupled with extremely high bluff and diplomacy skills. Oh, and improved feint with quick draw, did I mention that? Might make him a swashbuckler.

I know where games are at, just have not been motivated to find a ride to get there and play.

I usually just GM, I had 2 games going, one is once a month or so, I am running Carrion Crown. The other is on indefinite hiatus of Serpent Skull, due to real life cutting into my weekends.

I'm mostly roleplaying the bad guys. Heheh. Rawr! Barbarian warlord smash puny paladin! :D

Actually, I've been playing a lot of grouchy, intimidating fighter women lately. My cleric of Gorum, who only puts ranks into intimidate, my 4th edition swordmage, who gets her weapon stolen by the well meaning rogue every time she starts drinking in order to limit the damage, and even my 3.5 Human Paragon/Wizard/Crusader/Jade Phoenix Mage is a fighter type, though she's a little less belligerent than the other two characters. :)

In pbp games here I have an inquisitor of Erastil and a cute and unusually (for my characters) feminine cleric of Cayden Cailean.

I seem to have been channelling a lot of my inner 'zilla recently...

Happy belated, Crimson Jester!!!

I have not been been roleplaying many pcs lately because I have been running darklight sisterhood and kingmaker games once a month. My most recent characters were Maximillian Gravesend, aka Captain Taldor, a mighty arrogant fighter armed with a warhammer with the word "Diplomacy " engraved upon the handle. He later picked up a Lucerne hammer that was named "Discourse". I think he has the two handed weapon archetype.

I am GMing a game with my niece nephew and sister: D&D 3.5 in my own created world.

I am playing in a Friday night game in which we have two campaigns running.

The high level one I am a noble Necromancer-13th/fiend binder-3rd; very fun to play he is a noble in the world we play in sort of a french background he is Count Rene Lanfaire with a lot of followers, he is big into golems too. Mostly flesh golems hence the necromancer part but he is big into the infernal pacts and the like. His bound fiend is a female chain devil fighter Sefora Jyth. His uncle is a lich who runs the Lanfaire family from his burned out tower in the the Lanfaire family Castle. Rene is one of his favorites he has been the Uncle for many years making a pact with certain devils for his lichdom and dooming his family to hell when they die. Rene found this out when he died briefly (though felt like eternity).

The lower level character is a bard 2nd Perediyne Gaunt a master flutist and debater. He is blooded to dragons though he is not familiar with that past and he wants to know more. He has striking steel grey/blue eyes a heriditary trait. He is trying to find out more of his families past his father married a down on her luck noble woman and died while Perry was young. Currently fighting goblins but is not too great in the fighting department.

Sounds like a lot of fun Gruumash. Always good to hear what everyone's doing with RP stuff.

I'm working on a 6-9 session story arc for BRP. It's a big undertaking, and I'm trying to really ramp up the theatrics for it - it's the players first time with a new system and I want it to be memorable. Trying to incorporate a lot of off the table stuff.

The Exchange

That is a PC class I have always wanted to see done right. NOBLE, maybe it should be a bunch of Archtypes to be added onto existing classes.
