"Why I am seeing the completely irrelevant to me ad related to auto workshops?"

"That company tries to reach males age 30-55 in Poland".

"Yeah, no." *hide*

Don't get me started about the amount of automobile-related ads that involve nudity (though they usually resort to human females instead of dragons).

The photos are oddly endearing. Not something you'd expect in a review of a market. It's their faces. Also the seriously old-school produce pricing signs. I haven't seen those in decades.

They're just really nice people. I've known Kate since she's started, and she's really grown into the role of "head" cashier...

Well, in events that are no surprise to anyone, every single one of Impus Minor's teachers got back to me within 24 hours with the exception of the missing Chemistry teacher who started this whole thing.

And as a nice note, 3 of the 6 of them said that he'd be getting a Pass from them (classes are on Pass/No Pass now) pretty much no matter what he did, as long as he turned in the homework.

The other 3 are actually trying to maintain teaching this semester... except 2 of the 3 of them aren't holding classes.

Sorry. If you're going to be giving my son a "real" grade, you need to be a "real" teacher and hold classes.

It's official, the out of state nephews won't be travelling to our state this summer.

That doesn't sound like something an anime series would do.

My guess is that the series should be 24 episodes long but they cut it down the middle.

Gotta love new guys!

New guy (as I'm climbing into a skid loader to load my truck): Do you know how to run one of those?

Me: Uh, yeah, I'm pretty sure I can figure it out.

We do actually, the full size skid loaders are on one side and the mini skid loaders are on the other side. But it's an open floor barn so the skid loaders can nurse the mini skid loaders if they want.

I learned that the black spacer stuff they use between sidewalk slabs smells like dead fish.

And the grey spacer stuff smells like a urinal cake.

If I were to post a "map" and by map I mean a picture of a DF layout, would anyone use it? Key it? Find it mildly amusing that a near 50 year old man still plays with the adult equivalent of legos/lincoln logs?

Bad dreams followed by dead time cooling down from gym led to a rather large build.

If you're meaning Dwarf Fortress then yes and yes. And I play it too, werelizards are my bane and I've lost three fortresses to them.

Dwarven forge, not dwarf fortress. Although I have dwarf fortress on my puter. Just never played.

Last night I dreamed that I was touring a new resort on Mars, operated by SpaceX. You could get there in 8 hours, with no zero-G on the way. It wasn’t especially luxurious, but people were willing to shell out big bucks to go to Mars.

The biggest problem was the food. We got to try their “bog soup” made from plants that are able to survive in an anaerobic terrarium environment. Everyone said it tasted like dirt.

When I woke up, I was kind of disappointed that I still have never been to Mars.

If that means no more lines at the grocery store, it’s worth a try.

I'm actually taking a day off work next week to try to go to a "big box" store (Costco) because I've heard horror stories about the lines.

I've made it 2 months on just the corner store, but we're down to, "If Dad doesn't cook we have to get takeout," and I'd rather the kids have a bunch of frozen stuff to eat if I'm not up for cooking.

So, is there anything on this planet as frustrating as "helpful" people who quite obviously haven't listened to a word you've said? (I'm sure there are, but they're pretty high up the list, I'm sure.)

Employee: Dear Mr. VP. Do you have any idea how much longer the shutdown will last? I've already picked out a chair that I'm going to buy if we're going to be at home more than 2 months, but I don't want to spend the money if we'll be going back to the office before then.
"Helpful" Employee: Oh! Here's the chair I bought! You can get a great deal on it right now!

I had a dream today about the Doctor from Voyager infiltrating (with possibility on some fighting as he was sporting two revolvers) his way through some sort of skyscraper while some sort of intruders were also trying to get to the same place - either shapeshifting aliens or maybe a human-replacing androids. They were communicating through phones starting with statement "I am human" declaring that they took human form. There was some injured armed guy that the Doctor treated that was neither the local security guard nor one of the intruders that was distrustful of the Doc. It looked like a movie from eighties.

It turns out I can't tell the difference between dead fish and recycled lake kelp (as it appears that's what the spacer stuff we have is made of).

All my dreams lately have been anxiety dreams usually involving what I've been watching recently.

Which has been Joker, It, and Tiger King.

So I've been having a lot clown dreams.

I can't remember the last time I clearly recalled a dream I had. I know that maybe once every 1-2 years I remember a dream for the first 10-15 minutes after I wake up, but I forget them all VERY quickly.

The last one I still remember is from my early 20s, so it's been quite a while.

I even tried starting a dream journal to try to help me remember them, but that led to nothing but frustration as I picked it up and left it blank every single morning.

I'd *like* to remember my dreams. I just don't.

*SIGH*. You knew it was going to happen eventually.

Spoiler-y Tirade:
So for me, I understand people who've lost their livelihoods and are desperate to get by. "I'm a Tesla factory worker and Elon Musk is demanding that I go back to work or not get paid, even though he could afford to pay all of us our salaries for the duration and it wouldn't noticeably affect his net worth, so I'm going in."

Some people just can't avoid this catastrophe, and are forced to endanger themselves by circumstance.

But... a barber?!?!?!

"Gee... I could stay at home, send my barber the check that I was going to spend anyway, be slightly inconvenienced, and yet keep both the economy and the people around me alive, or I could just say, 'Screw everybody and the rules they rode in on,' and go get a haircut!
I'm going to go get a haircut!"

It soooooo frustrates me because worship of the almighty dollar has driven virtually everyone to make irrational decisions.

I was going to spend the money anyway. I send my serviceperson a check. I am not out anything I wasn't planning on being out. They aren't out anything, and are actually a bit ahead of the game because they didn't work. We both stay safe.

How hard is it?

Apparently very, very hard.

Honestly, I do not understand the whole ruckus about the hairdressers and barbers.

I haven't been to a hairdresser in... 23? 24 years? I am not sure. I have never been to a barber and I don't feel the need.
