What a loss. I admit the first book is fairly childish but then again so is the Hobbit. As the characters grow (and the audience) so does the story mature. While it never reaches Lord of the Rings story levels it is not a bad series. Some of the movies were fairly good as well. Much better in fact than a lot of Hollywood films.

I find the series meh. It went off the rails a bit, but it seems to be getting back to where it should be.

It's official. I give up on Freehold.

I so get you there. Then I turn around and have people like Treppa suggest books to me that I end up adoring.

I think it's just accumulated stress. I don't remember injuring myself, at any rate. It's less painful today than it was yesterday, though, so that's good.

I was looking at a Rune Giant Saturday. Couldn't afford to buy it, but I may go back after payday...

Spoiler:
There are far too many books out there to spend time reading something you don't enjoy. I'm not a fan of Harry Potter either. Not for moral reasons, not even the reasons most far-right Christian conservatives would spout. I just don't enjoy the story/writing style. I certainly don't feel like I have missed anything by not reading them.

I have watched the first couple of movies, but they don't really do it for me either.

Read Only GOOD Books! (With the caveat that 'good' to you may not be 'good' to me, and that's ok. Plenty out there for all of us.

The first Rappan Atuk session went well. No deaths, but at least three separate occasions of negative hit points. I did make one serious tactical error, but in the end it's for the best. Had I played that encounter differently I may have had a TPK...

Hey guys, (especially CH) Our hard drive crashed again. We should be back online by the weekend. So If you need us call us, and CH, hubby says just dm his pc in your pbp.

BTW, Happy Labor day! For those of you who get this day off.. I am jealous!
Hope everyone is well! <3

Yay! Home repair! Leak was fixed, now the drywall is dry again, primed, and ACCESS FREAKING PANELS have been installed so the next time (::crosses fingers::) there's a plumbing problem in the master bath, the plumber won't have to cut holes in the wall.

Hopefully...

this is the problem with flips.

Ah...the joys of home ownership.

Just got back from the Renaissance Fair.

I wish they'd open it in October as opposed to ending it then. Heat is the enemy. Fun nonetheless.
