gf yesterday failed her drivers licence practical test :-(
she failed when she was 18 and stopped because, living in a city she did not really needed a car (which changed now that she is dating someone down from the valley between the woods (-:)
she overstepped the stop line at a traffic lights 5 minutes before the end.
she took it kind of hard, started sobbing at every traffic light on our way home (and there where many) I did my best to comfort here: candlelight dinner on the couch (with, well, döner kebab, but hey, that was here choice of comfort food) followd by the Bones Season one christmas episode and chocolate
next test is in two weeks, at least her goal to get the licence before turning 30 is not in danger jet (she has until january)

slow in here

time to brew the fiday night serpent skull game coffee

Sovereign Court

aegelos - that sucks! But tell her not to give up!

I've been driving forever, but I let a couple bad experiences with manual stickshift cars make it so I become a nervous wreck when I even think about driving one. Sounds like she made a relatively small mistake, not something she can't fix - so she'll make it! :)

In honor of my 1,000th post as Tordek (this one) I've treated myself to an afternoon off from work. Now it's time to get some things done around the house.

Sounds good, Tordek.

Why so quiet?

Ah. It's 5 on a Friday. Ppl on way home from work.

The person leading the meeting: "Well we can't really do that until we can choose a closing doc set."
Me: "It's just going to be a generic doc set."
Leader: "Yes, but there's something like 30 generic sets and they want to choose the one that looks the best."
Me: "Make sure it's one that has pretty rainbows and butterflies all over it."
Leader: **silence**

Seriously? You can't tell from that comment that I'm kidding? People need to loosen up a bit...

I would not do well there. Meeting quotes from me:

"I should be able to get that done tomorrow morning. I usually just take a nap during that time of day."

[Coworkers talking about their weekend and which bar they went to.] Me: "That sounds pretty good. I haven't had a drink since the drive in this morning."

Maybe he was considering what color of butterflies to use?

"Obsession" I love that episode. My favorite next to The Devil in the Dark and The Doomsday Machine.

I'm working through the weekend. Have fun everyone and I'm off Monday.

I told the VP that the best way to handle an irate customer is to "Be sickly sweet and nice to them, it just pisses them off more." Thankfully I still have a job.

I've debated getting that for years. I've never played HeroClix though, so I can't justify spending the money... :-/

Now I'm curious, but once you get into opposing sides and pttts arguments, it's probably best not to inquire.
