I never beat 7th Saga. It was neat how each character choice was quite varied, but it was too grind-heavy for me to hold interest.
I did enjoy SaGa Frontier, so I can understand your love of Romancing Saga, but...they're all so...disconnected. I couldn't stand how SGF never gave you any real direction on where to go, or what to do to beat the game. SGF2 was just f#%@ing weird.
np doubt, 7th saga/mystic ark was a grindfest. No doubt.
But the music was so haunting, the monsters so unique...I fall in love again every time I start a new game.
Saga frontier is allllllll about freedom. Just freedom. Go anywhere. Literally.
Much like my nudity.

Will always love chrono trigger. But it is not the best in my view.
I personally consider Chrono Trigger the best video game ever made. Ever.
I vaguely recall playing part of 7th Saga and losing interest somewhere in the beginning, but I was much younger at the time and new to RPGs so I might need to try it again sometime.
And add me as a third voice who could not get through the constant sidetracking of poetry, history lessons, and random trivia that was the LOTR books. I slogged through FOTR and quit early into T2T. The movies did a very good job of excising the unnecessary sidetracks and focusing on the actual plot.

I dunno, LotR did a pretty good job of holding true. They only cut out the unneccessary s!~#, like Tom Bombadil. F&&# that guy.
Shame. Shame. *cowbell* Shame. *cowbell* Shame. Shame. Shame. *cowbell*
Let me know when your feet start bleeding, eh?
lol
EDIT: To be clear -- Bombadil is awesome.

got into a huge argument with my dad. He goes into telling me how I messed up all the other food I made and called it crap while he does not do what I need to get dinner done and then I get upset and do not cook well after I get upset and he tells me I am doing it wrong and wonders why I don't want to be in the same room as him.

I'm afraid that I'm with Vid on this. Doc, this sounds like psychological abuse. Although I'm not an expert, I have seen this sort of abuse firsthand. My mother's second husband (Ha! There was no love in his soul.) was a vile, abusive, waste of a Human being. He would emotionally, psychologically, and physically abuse my mother. Consult with an expert, and ask what should be done. My personal advice would be to leave, like my mother did. I know that family is important, but the stress inflicted on you from this abuse isn't healthy.

I personally found the LOTR books too lengthy anyway. Stop singing and get to fighting! RAWR!
But the problem is that I came from the movies to read the books, so I wouldn't have been considered as a book fan. If not for the LOTR movie I would not have even read the books.
I tried reading the books in high school. When I got to page 140 and Frodo hadn't left the shire yet I quit and went back to reading Robert E. Howard short stories.
Once the first movie came out I read the books with my youngest daughter. Strangely enough she was in high school.

Weird.
So like a little while back I mentioned the boards saying this thread had around 20 people in it. That's because when I look at the main boards page, it says like "this person, this person, this person and 18 others", right?
But, I count way more than that within the first...ten pages maybe.
So...
Wasn't the goal of the thread originally to see how long until you break the board?
Goal achieved, it seems. I mean, you didn't freeze it over, but shit, even I know how to count.

Their is a Judas priest song that almost encompass my feelings about that. Keep in mind when this thread breaks it will be the 6th times. Do we get to choose a chosen one at that point? Can I be neo? even though neo wasn't the chosen one.

He's not awesome. He's powerful. Powerful =/= Awesome.
Superman is powerful. Superman is also as boring as...(Come on man, you can think of a good simile here, you got this...)...he's as boring as watching the Star Wars prequels with every single light saber fight cut out and enhanced commentary by Hayden Christianson on exactly how he channeled the angst and emotion of his character. Nailed it!
The Silver Surfer is powerful. The Silver Surfer also was never interesting to anyone over the age of seven.
Too much power = No enough conflict. Conflict = Necessary For Good Story.
As Penny Arcade illustrated, what's the point of any other character when you have that super-powerful ridiculous hero?
Also, he literally serves no point to the plot. He's as needless as the extended lore throughout the books, except at least that stuff helps to set the narrative of the world, while TB is just a stupid little stop that makes no sense in any way, shape, or form. He's a speedbump, and a f@+$ing annoying one at that.

The proper way is, ironically enough, the only way I find Superman to be interesting: the "can a god truly relate to man" question - the only time Superman really has any conflict is when they address his inevitable loneliness, because he is figuratively a god among men, and there is no way he will every actually relate to them.
Or, you take OPM's route and have them bored as hell, like Saitama, trying to find a way to deal with the ennui of being so strong.
Essentially, the only conflicts they can have are internal.

Yeah next time someone tells me the food sux, please offer constructive criticism. Yes, I know I tend to cook things a little more salty and sweet, but heck, that's the way I roll.
And if you just want to complain, you can cook your own stuff next. I'm eatin' out.

Someones car was broken into I stepped out to see what was going on it scared them off but they took a few things and broke a window. Already talked to police etc. Man breaking into someones car and stealing their Christmas gifts while their on their way to see their family for the holiday. that is pretty low.

The goal was achieved five times. We still don't know how long this thread to be to break the forums the sixth time. The experiment goes on.

A few years ago I was going for a NY party, and passed next to a shopping kiosk. It took me a few steps to realize that the guy I saw was reaching inside through a broken window instead of closing it for the night as I first thought.
To be honest I panicked because I was sure the guy will run after me and will attack me. I walked a hundred meters or so and then called the police...

It is. I don't keep anything in it that could be stolen and it has one of those weird computer system ignitions so I don't think its possible to steal it. So they would break a window and be disappointed. I'd have to get a new window. Course the family their car was parked towards the back mine where i can kind of see it by looking out the door. Plus surely they would not be dumb enough to come back in the same night.
Edit: Plus cops are still driving by frequently. So i'm just being paranoid.

I think anything written by Tolkien is tedious =)
I suppose it's cool if you could plough through the whole thing but meh...lets just say it ain't for me.
Actually I was thinking about what Drejk said. Most thieves don't want to get caught. So if they get caught in the act, they would probably run away instead of attacking right?
I mean if you kill someone the crime is murder. Knock someone out and it'd fall under grievous bodily harm. Much more serious offenses then burglary.
And the thieves shouldn't try it again now the cops are around.

You must not remember the 80's/early 90s programming. all the pacing was so much slower. some would argue richer.(really the further back you get the worse it is as far as pacing goes.) Some of it can be hard to watch now a days. things seemed needlessly stretched out etc. I think its just a generational change of mindset and maybe a bit of evolution on entertainment in general. I mean I don't have to take up for Tolkien his legacy speaks for itself. I think he wanted much more then just a story but rather an world with a rich history.

I may actually have some form of ADHD. I can't sit around doing nothing. I mean give me a book, a computer, or maybe some fluffy animals to watch, I can keep myself entertained.
But ask me to lie around on the beach and enjoy the sun and sea? Not gonna happen. I'll go splash in the water looking for crabs and octopi.

I know when I worked at Walmart we weren't suppose to do anything to get in the thief way aside from let him know he was being watch subtlety. Really I didn't see any motivation they have insurance for that stuff and expect a certain amount of theft per day. Breaking into someones car and stealing presents presumably for their children is about as crappy as it gets.
