Sharknado... I have given up all hope at good movies.

The Exchange

MY EYES!!!!!!

I've heard that mentioned a couple of times around here. What is it?

<shakes tail>

Sharknado

Ooooh, that's on tonight!

The Exchange

Yes, and that brings a whole new meaning to "monster" movie

Look, you just can't take SciFi Channel originals as a true cross-section of the film industry and deem it terrible. Hollywood doesn't really need the help in that regard.

OMG. That movie looks incredible.

Not incredibly good, just incredible.

The Exchange

I think CH has my opinion down. It looks incredible.

The Exchange

Also this

Is there any scientific basis, however tenuous, for sharknado?

Thunder Levin: Yes. There are numerous confirmed reports of fish falling from the sky, sometimes even on a clear sunny day. We just took it to the “logical” extreme.

Seriously, how drunk were you guys the first time someone uttered the word "sharknado"?

Alas, I wasn’t in the room for this historic moment, but they must have been pretty drunk!

Ok, as craptastic as this seems I am now curious.

The Exchange

Damn you internet and your strange quotes and interviews.

Syfy movies have been ridiculous since they were called sci fi. Come on man, these movies were made for laughing at while drinking with friends. Which is something I need right now as I need something to distract myself from killing my idiot boss.

Sorry to hear about the dad and the dog, Bitter Thorn.

Also sorry to hear about the car, Treppa.

Good to hear about the old desktop, though, Doctor Wu.

And *hugs* to Treppa & Puffin, my dad's car has gone the same way. Hope you can figure a good alternative - or get some extra allowances from the house sale.

Do they have Therion's ABBA covers? 'Cause that would be awesome.

No work! Just vacation!

My mother and brother both live in Portland. My mother moved there to get away from her husband around the same time I moved to California in 2011. I actually have not seen her in 2 years.

Also, they will be meeting John for the first time. The anniversary of our first date happens to be July 15, so we have one night booked in a B&B to celebrate.

Also, Portland is cool. I need to dedicate at least 1 day to Powell's City of Books.

Awesome! Have fun!

A few facts about the City of Books:

• 68,000 square feet packed with books.
• We buy 3,000 used books over the counter every day.
• Approximately 3,000 people walk in and buy something every day.
• Another 3,000 people just browse and drink coffee.
• We stock 122 major subject areas and more than 3,500 subsections.
• You'll find more than 1,000,000 volumes on our shelves.
• Approximately 80,000 book lovers browse the City's shelves every day in Portland and via the Internet.

68,000 square feet = 1.6 acres or 6,300 square meters of retail floor space.
