Man, the salt mines sure are especially saline today... my eyes are burning out my skull, i have been staring at the screen so long. And then my new supervisor gives me static because I cannot be in two places at once and had to make a judgment call that, naturally, was the wrong one. Sigh.... damned if you do... crucified if you don't.

Patrick, we are all praying for your little girl. Any idea what is wrong as of yet?

Obviously you need to find the Great Gazoo and have him make a clone of you that can only say yes. Then you can be in two places at once. And wacky hijinks will ensue.

I wish Ancestral Spirits would be expanded in the Pathfinder Campaign setting. They haven't been mentioned since Fortress of the Stone Giants, yes? I'm tempted to start a thread.

Thanks Jess. Qucikly popping in, going back to hospital after a 6-hour nap. No word on eventual outcome. Might be surgery, might be managed care. Will know more later. Thank you everyone for your kind wishes.

Spoiler for Bender:

Spoiler:
Actually, we pay for primary healthcare (BlueCross/Blue Shield), and supplimental health care (the state HI, MassHealth), quite a large chunk. The supplimental healthcare, MassHealth, was a very good provider until Romneycare came into effect. Now, in the past year Ally has been dropped twice, because 'we didn't return forms in time' (which we never got) and the last time it took to reinstate her was over a month (15 'business' days, which didn't include any and all holidays taken by Massachusetts bureaucrats, which worked out to 33 days actual). I have heard from my pharmacist and doctor that this has become a regular occurance: MassHealth will start dropping folks, claiming unfiled paperwork, hoping that the amount of time, documentation and effort it takes to regain coverage will cause people to give up on it. So, I can see what the future of Romney/Obamcare will be: Higher rates, forced insurance, and a swollen, uncaring bureaucracy that takes pride in being unhelpful. So yes, I am still a Libertarian. =P

I feel your pain concerning the paper work and business days fiasco. That is what essentially happened to me because my check was lost in the mail sending it down to their COBRA processing center ... in Florida. Can't frakkin' send it electronically or I would've. Dropped me with no chance of reinstatement. Scares me being uninsured, frankly. The only glimmer of hope I have right now that when I find an employer with benefits that I no longer have the specter of 'pre-existing conditions' hanging over my head. If that's the only good thing coming out of this thus far.

I'm not theistic, but I wish you good luck all the same that your daughter's medical issues are resolved with a positive outcome. :)

Thanks for the well wishes. As for pre-existing, yeah that needs to change. Many things about health care need to change, and I have always maintained that, I just think Obama/RomneyCare addresses very little of the issues while keeping others alive and well. And, 'forced' insurance? While I was unemployed and while my wife waited for her promotion she only qualified for a 'health discount' plan which was the corporation's cutout to satisfy Romneycare. You wanna talk scary? Paying for 'health insurance' that didn't insure shit except that you satisfied the new law concerning manditory health insurance is pretty scary. Fortunately with her promotion we have been able to get onto an actual insurane company that is known for its quality of care (and is run non-profit)

Anyway, thank all of those who have seny positive vibrations/prayers/well-wishes my way. I do appreciate it.

Well, Jenny found that she had to change her number, after a visit to a local club was followed by a series of creepy, late-night phone calls. Meanwhile, an intervention was staged for Roxanne after it was discovered that she had secretly begun a career in the worlds oldest profession. It's hard finding good figures for halflings, which seems wierd to me given how long they've been around in fantasy literature.

Does he happen to sport a huge schnozzola?

Slightly larger then normal. He's very touchy about his height, and full of bravado.

He is, in essence, (to pull one of my favorite lines from the play) always fighting giants.

So, his surname is Quixote?

Close, I was refering to the following;

“I-I am going to be a storm-a flame-
I need to fight whole armies alone;
I have ten hearts; I have a hundred arms;
I feel too strong to war with mortals-
BRING ME GIANTS!”

(Incidentally, that bit is my next tattoo)

It's ironic, but you know what I miss? I miss all the political threads that used to be here. I didn't post on them much, but they were nice to read for me. I don't really watch the NEWS. And after you sift through all the vitriol of some posters, you ended up with a fairly balanced view of the issue(s) being discussed. I used to get all my NEWS from Paizo -- but now it feels like nothing is happening in the world. I guess we need another election year.

Did you see the episode where John Stewart admitted that he didn't have to be balanced because he was a comedy program after Papa Bear tried to call him on it? That's what gets under people's skin. They don't even claim to be balanced, but they're still a journalistic program.
