Nope, thank God. Blessedly overcast predicted for all day, about a 50/50 chance of more rain. I could live without the rain, but what're you gonna do. Supposed to be in the 70s all week, nice jacket weather; a day of accursed sunshine would ruin that.

Worry not, Brother Orthos. Winter is coming.

gets Cobra(tm) Whedon Demonator from the basement, sets it for "Snowpocalypse", aims it in the direction of Pennsylvania

You have a Whedon Demonator?! Is Snowpocalyse a new movie project set in PA, with snow demons?

Wow! You have all the inside info! You must be his biggest fan!

I'm pretty sure Freehold knows which likable character will be impaled on snow demon claws, too.

It's obligatory

And mandatory.

hi everyone

tomorrow national holiday: day of german unity

I will celebrate it in the usual german fashion: ignoring it, black-red-gold flags and national anthems are purly for soccer games, you know

So, the same sort of refined patriotism as the British. Good show, old bean.

First day of new job. Not the causal first day. It was like going to that hated college teachers course. Ah well the price we pay for more money.

Yummm...Just baked ginger cookies and peanut butter cookies. My apartment smells fantastic and I have delicious treats to not share with anyone.

Kali ma! Kali ma! Kali ma!

And now I can add frying bacon and onion to the aromas of goodness wafting out of my kitchen.

Liberty's Edge

Arrogant Bastard Ale. That is all.

I cooked kale for the first time. Stir-fried it with carrots, broccoli, spinach, garlic, soy and teryaki sauce. It is surprisingly good. Chewier than spinach, but not as strong. Even the Puffin is eating it!

Verdict: Success!

yum kale.

I have a fresh cheesecake baking, with mixed berries for a topping!

The dark side may have cookies, but Houston has delicious baked goods as well! :D

Is it a New York Style cheesecake?

I'm not on the dark side. Am I? And I don't like cheesecake, so I'll stick with the cookies. Leaves more of the custard pie for you.

I am actually unclear on that. What defines a cheesecake as New York style?

Now I wonder what varisian style chesecake would taste like.

Good Morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Wednesday!!! It's still a bit rainy and gloomy here in Philly, but I've got my JuJu Stick, so hopefully I can make it go away.

Still not sure if I'm going to stick with the show Revolution for the long term, but after watching the most recent episode, I might just give it a couple more chances.

Scarab Sages

But get some damnable steam punk in there already!

Scarab Sages

And maybe a windmill or three.

Is it sad that the more inconceivable show of The Walking Dead does a better job of portraying a postapocalyptic world?

Scarab Sages

Meh, but maybe I'm just cranky this morning.

Scarab Sages

I was reading that they have a director and script for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - sequel to the recent "Rise of...".

That makes me happy.

My kid was pissed at me this morning because I took his pacifier away before we went to daycare. We still let him have it at night if he asks for it, but I usually try to get it out of sight/out of mind first thing in the morning. When I got out the shower the wife had him downstairs with the thing in his mouth.

So, when it came time to leave I took it away. He got mad. He stayed mad at me - when we dropped him off he did his best to ignore me.

*yawn*

Scarab Sages

It's episodes like this, however, that make me want to throw the damn things out for good. I've already decided that if he hasn't given them up by his birthday in February, then I am going to toss them.

Scarab Sages

There were several nights while the wife was gone that I got him to bed and through the night without the damn things, so I know he doesn't need them.

Scarab Sages

Grrr....the whole thing has put me in a bad mood.

Scarab Sages

Looks like I need to cheer myself up.

Scarab Sages

Sam

Scarab Sages

I hope that something better comes along

Scarab Sages

MMmmm....more coffee

Now that the wife is done with her travelling, and I'm not scheduled to go out of town again until some time after Thanksgiving, I'm hoping to get my Kingmaker game going again. I've only got two players left, but it's worked out for a few sessions so far.

The rest of the group kind of fell apart. The guy running our Serpent Skull campaign got tired of it. Two other guys got tired of gaming period. And one guy had stopped gaming with us long before. Then there were the delays in my game due to work and Charlie.

Scarab Sages

There was talk of getting some kind of weekly game going with rotating DM duty, but considering the source I figured it would last for a few months then he'd lose interest. So I didn't even bother responding to the emails.

Maybe it's because the pacifier is shaped like a boob. Can you blame him?

Scarab Sages

It's almost like the bad old days prior to 2005, when I didn't have anyone to game with.

Scarab Sages

Sad zombie is sad.

Scarab Sages

Maybe I should get back into computer games.
