The last one was Queen Christina - with an actual, genuine Swede in the title role!
Well, that's why it sounded familiar. I enjoyed that film very much. :)

And the ones before were about Jodhaa Akbar.
And this is now on my list of films to watch. :)

He has, on occasion posted around these parts under the name lebreton.

What happens on June 7?
I believe that's the date the PMG has planned to openly declare himself the Digital Overlord of all humanity. On that day, he'll unleash an army of robotic minions to act as our overseers, directing us in what will soon become our routine - eat, sleep, work. All other considerations, such as leisure time, will be a thing of the past for all but a select few collaborators who will live lives of hedonistic luxury. I guess we all know who's side Taig is coming out on.

THERE IS NO ESCAPE.
THEY ARE ALREADY HERE.

So you do five times the work for a 5% raise? ~grins and runs~

Couldn't sleep last night because I was writing down game design ideas. If anything else I will definitely be entering RPG superstar this year. It's incredibly frustrating when you come up with 2 totally awesome design ideas and then struggle to make other design ideas on par with the first 2 so RPG superstar entries can atleast be ready.

Well technically I was doing half of the job already, so it won't be nearly that much of an increase in work. ;)

You can always expect a wondrous item as the first round, and you can almost always expect a monster, an encounter, and an adventure write-up. It's the second round that changes fairly regularly (this year was an organization; prior years had an archetype and a monster description, I believe).

I upgraded encounters a bit while trying to keep them even. Biggest help: all monsters had max hit points. They lasted longer, but weren't more powerful than the party should face - they just used a little more resources.
don't be afraid to roll with party decisions that don't match anything in the book! That's the joy of sandbox!
The pain of sandbox: you have to have the whole book pretty much down before you start the adventure, because they can go in any direction. Lots of prep! Know creatures' motivations!
Early on, I had fun with survival and weather. I pre-rolled on weather charts for the first year or so and had a calendar ready. If the party was out during the tornado, that made for a fun and unexpected encounter! Later on this is trivial, of course, but enjoy it while you can.
Use the Kingmaker forum here - great ideas. I pretty much rewrote the entire second book using a thread from the forum for inspiration.
Recurring characters make the world feel alive. If an enemy escapes, reintroduce them. If they make a friend or rescue someone, reward them later with a future meeting so they can see how they affected someone's life.
FOLLOW the KINGDOM BUILDING RULES - we let things get out of control, in the name of "fun" (a powerful, rich kingdom), and it got so even those that enjoyed the kingdom building originally found it boring. Don't be afraid to shove it in the background if people aren't enjoying it, but try to play it up. For the first half of the campaign, we found it fun - if we'd followed the item rules (especially these!) more closely, I think things wouldn't have gotten so out of control. This messed up portions of book 5 for my group.
Have fun!
:)
