I was named after Spartacus. No really, my dad wanted to name me Spartacus, but thankfully my mom won the argument and he named me after the actor who played him instead.
That is a "Thank you, Mom," moment if ever there was one!
A friend of mine has a family tradition that the oldest son's middle name is always "Thor".
My mom has always loved the name "Teddy" - but Theodore Door just doesn't work.

I know she's waiting for me to have a son, since my last name won't be Door anymore...and then name him Theodore.

Anyone want to help me name my new (PFRPG, YAY!!) paladin's faithful steed?
Brief character info, much of which is related to a previous homebrew campaign:
Y'drakkeh Riftwarden (Y'dra), 14th level half-orc paladin
Background:Y'dra is the daughter of Haagash Kahgred and Errol Riftwarden, and the twin siblng of Hogun Drahk. Separated from Hogun at birth and smuggled out of her mother's orc tribe, she was raised by her human father and the order of paladins of Tanagal to which he belonged. Hogun remained in orc society, and became part of the family of Y'soth Drahk when his mother's orc mate was killed shortly after his birth. Y'dra and Hogun's father kept track of Hogun's growth, and made sure that Y'dra knew she had a twin brother amongst the orc tribes. Their mother did the same for Hogun, so the two were always aware of each other's existence. Y'dra's father always told her that she was born seconds before Hogun, and she persisted in calling him 'little brother' when the two encountered each other as young adults, just before Hogun signed on with Nolan Stark and began the chain of adventures that introduced him to Pel'ori Xiloscient.
Y'dra was called to service by the Knights of Jorgamjer as soon as she reached adulthood, and has served the Order faithfully for ten years. She has now left Lockren's Rift and journeyed to Alexandria for Lysenia Xandros's coronation, and to meet the woman for whom her brother gave his life.
Tentatively, Y'dra's steed is a celestial warhorse, although I may try to talk the DM into a pegusus or something a little more interesting flavor-wise. Any name suggestions?

It is an awesome picture. You also inspired me to go look at traditional names for the Lippizaner breed. Some of the names of the mare lines would be pretty awesome D&D names. 'Djebrin' is a definite possibility for Y'dra's steed.

Well, the people at the school are very friendly. They have a nice program and are very welcoming.
The location blows. :( It's not "almost NYC" Long Island. It's "did we just pass a cow?" Long Island. Meh. I wish I could pick up the school and relocate it.

Mandarb
In the WoT "Olde Tongue", Mandarb means "blade".
Note: I thought it humorous in the book where Zarine/Faile introduces herself as a great hunter for the Horn of Valere and that her (chosen) name is Mandarb which means blade in the Olde Tongue to which Perrin responds...See that horse over there, his name is Mandarb. :P
