The horrible part of it was I only got $3000 for it. I had spent more than that just on upgrades to the engine. The truck was valued at $23000, hell minus the upgrades blue book was $13000. >:(

Wow. The buyer must have known you were desperate to sell it. :(

Good afternoon FAWTLies!
I once won a 2000 GMC Sierra Sportside Pick up. I loved that truck... I named her Lucille.
I had a 2002 GMC Sierra HD 2500 with an 8' Fischer plow on it. I called it Truckula or Truckie depending on how I felt about it that day. It was a fun truck. I enjoyed plowing snow too, there was something about driving around at 2am in the teeth of a blizzard that really fired your neurons off.
My swan song came with the post-Katrina gas hikes. Suddenly it took $80 to fill up that mother. So I traded it in for a Corolla (I was commuting ~2 hrs a day at that point)

I had 24 hours to come up with the back rent or we would've been evicted. Between that and a couple weeks groceries I walked away with nothing out of the exchange.
And I do mean walked away. :S
The things we do for our families.

Damn fine trucks, I hope to get another one sooner than later.

Ugh. Not a fun tale. Reminds me of my first marriage, when I had to sell my '69 Firebird for $1200 to make rent. That's a car I won't ever see again, barring a lottery win
