Orthos what sort of music do you like? It's always great introducing people to new music.

Rock, metal, orchestral. A small sampling of my ideas of good European music:

Sonata Arctica
Nightwish
Helloween
Gamma Ray
Tristania
Sirenia
Hammerfall
Edguy
Avantasia
Master Plan
Kamelot
Falconer
Within Temptation
Blind Guardian

Cool list.

I'm over at the hotel for a moment. Spent a good chunk of hours playing one of Lou Agresta's pick up game (which will resume again tomorrow). I'm pretty much free for the remainder of the evening tonight. Once there's a window of opportunity with the storm lightening up, then I'll make my way over back to the Convention Center.

P.S. It may not be as humid as New Orleans, but when you get a bunch of gamers packed in one place with questionable air conditioning circulation and some folks with stereotypical hygiene patterns, it makes the psuedo-humidity suffocating ifyouknowwhatimeanvern.

I vaguely recall a decent strip club there, but details are fuzzy.

I enjoyed Paizocon better than Gencon, but Gencon was a working trip for me many years ago.

Have fun!

Nothing on wiki. Who are they? (Thought you meant Sabaton for a sec though, who I do know and like, took me a bit to remember the correct name.)

Just leaving for a friend's 31st birthday. And I am a year older.

Looks around

I think it makes me moderately young here, tee-hee.

Why is 80s stuff making me not want to watch vh-1 classic because it is too new even though I wasn't alive then.

Hell if I know. I listen to music from the 1840s.

If you drew a Venn-diagram with three circles labelled "Old-Timey Rock'n'Roll with filthy-sounding guitars," "Punkrock," and "Sheer Bad-assness," Sator is what would be in the middle.

Have a listen.

Proper 80's music

More proper 80's music about my other favourite 80's (and 70's, 90's, 00's, and 10's artist (who should leave the acting to his guitarist).

Why would someone make a disturbing alias about that? I like it. I have a whole drawer full of E7's underwear.

Which of my sons is right for you? The 22, 24, or the 27 year old? Buy 2 and get one free! They're almost house broken. Almost.

Grrr. I hate having daddy longlegs whirring around the lamp when I'm reading. Go back to wherever you came from, darn insects!

Off-color joke -

Spoiler:
A father and his daughter were working in their garden when the daughter happened to spy two spiders mating. The daughter asks the father about the spider on top, 'What's that called?' He answers, 'A daddy longlegs'. She asks, 'What's the other one called?' He replies, 'That's a daddy longlegs too' She promptly squishes both spiders. 'We'll have none of that in our garden!' she exclaims.

I know. It's bad.

The above joke does not necessarily represent the views of the teller. Any similarity to any spiders, living or dead, is coincidental.
