NobodysHome: I love this song. It's a really, really boring song, but then you hit the chorus and there's this beautiful harmony between the two women's voices, so you're sitting there thinking, "This is boring. This is boring. Why am I listening to this again? Oh. Aaaah."

Impus Major: Father, you've discovered power metal!
He is wise beyond his years.
Pretty much. All power metal is either that or "these lyrics are so ridiculous and over the top that it loops around to awesome."
I've been pretty big on Sabaton myself lately (edit: and by lately I mean since 2005.)I think they are "War metal" and created the genre. Their lyrics are a straight up history lesson. I have learned so much from them. Not even kidding.

Sabaton History Channel.

I'm proud to say I haven't been a metalhead since 1991.

The closest I get to listening to current metal bands is Clutch (and they're stoner metal if anything).

To each their own, my dad introduced me to Metallica when I was in jr. high and I've only gotten deeper into the weirder and more unusual kinds of metal ever since.

I love Metallica and Megadeth has some good stuff, plus Clutch, Sepultura and White Zombie and what not, but for the most part my tastes have diverged into punk, grunge and hip hop.

Did another mile. Will post about this every day to keep the momentum going. May toss in some calisthenics.

May also make a poster horizontal poster of exercises withbpictures of Nobodyshome and Captain Yesterday at the median and endpoints respectively.

I have written a cease-and-desist letter to the Daily Bugle from Spider-Man's legal representation for the kids to pick apart.

Sometimes English is fun.

Yeah I went the complete opposite. Punk and grunge I just never much cared for and hip hop is way too close to/has a tendency to bleed into rap too much for my taste. Just not my genre.

I've never used Spotify before.

Let's see it make something coherent out of a mix of power/symphonic metal, Weird Al, Ninja Sex Party, Frank Sinatra, Backstreet Boys, and various Broadway stars with more to be added as I can be bothered to remember them.

As a longtime computer geek, it's amazing the kinds of things that I'll let slide, vs. the things that infuriate me.

Your server's down for a few hours? Meh. Stuff happens.

Your transaction entry can't handle an amount of $136.5, and refuses to let me proceed until I put that 0 on the end? C'mon, guys! String parsing's been a thing since the advent of user input!

Yes. I have a hyphenated last name, and there are still many web sites out there that can't handle it. There are web sites that insist that you put -no- punctuation into your phone number fields (5105551234), and web sites that won't work unless you do (510-555-1234).

Writing a string parsing algorithm to handle common cases (hyphens in names or phone numbers) takes under 15 minutes, and has virtually no impact on performance because users are so much slower than processors anyway.

So such things are just a testament to the laziness of the programmers who created the interfaces, and the QA people who let them pass.

I was finally able to get out and mess around with my Starfinder Deck of Many Worlds and I can report it is both fun and easy to use.

Which is saying something coming from me because if it's one thing I can confuse and complicate it's card games.

The only sorts of metal I listen to are Doom and stoner rock. I was very fond of grunge at the time when it was a thing, though that genre ran out of steam pretty quickly.

I put some tiles into the garden. While not perfect, I like to think cap Yesterday would be proud of me, making do with the tools that I have. (just a shovel).

Lacking a rubber mallet, I just used the tried and true 'bouncing up and down' method to pack the earth under the tiles.
Now I just need to monetize that bouncing.

Bouncing up and down is a solid plan B (I use it even if I don't have to sometimes).

And yes, I most definitely approve.
