I love effective project managers. We had one. He retired. Now we have a bunch of ineffective project managers.
I brought a couple of systems down during production hours yesterday because I was told that it was approved by the project manager.
It apparently wasn't approved.
I'm displeased, to say the least, with the ineffective project manager.

I'm pretty sure that Mist is German for manure.

I hope you're keeping well, and having a good one so far. :) Any strange?
I'm curious to your meaning behind "Any strange?" Because it means something in American slang. For some people, granted, but there is a definite meaning.

I'm an old white heterosexual male. I have no idea what the heck you're saying here...
EDIT: After looking it up, LOLOL!!!! Apparently I am neither "old" nor "white" nor "heterosexual" enough.
Who knew?

Okay, the kids and I are supposed to be out the door in an hour to go pick up WW from work, the cargo area in the hatchback is completely crammed (tent, sleeping bags, cooler, dry food, camp kitchen, and WW's backpack) and there is absolutely no room back there for the kids and I to put any clothes of our own. Also, I still need to put together a few more food items, because 4 1/2 days for 4 people. And I still haven't had a shower today.
I think we're going to be late.

So, I was IM'ing GothBard about, "Any strange?", and she was telling me a story...
GothBard: So I was bundled up with my hood up and a glower on my face to dissuade the green vesters...
NobodysHome: Green vester?
GB: Oh, you blessedly ignorant troll!
So, looks like I need to update my profile page to include, "Blessedly Ignorant", 'cause I'm getting a lot of that today...

Even googling it doesn't help.
What's a green vester?
A person paid to collect for a charity. These guys.
Apparently they're really aggressive in San Francisco. Go figure.

Safety pin a sign to your shirt reading "Does not carry cash". Bet they'd back off.

Still a bit emotional. I had a serious cry during the weekend, but sometimes you just need a good cry.
EDIT: After googling what 'strange' means in slang, no, no strange :P

In our Shiro campaign we're in the Darklands. As we entered our next den of obviously hostile, intelligent, and carnivorous beings (marked by skulls and bones), my gnome hung a sign around her neck that read (in Undercommon): "Not Food".
The scary thing was she had all the pieces she needed listed on her gear sheet...

First day back went well, we got about three times as much done as coworker thought we'd get done, even though I was taking it easy.
And we got a free picnic table for the shop, I didn't even have to lift a finger (I had a mini bobcat and a set of forks so I just picked it up and strapped it to the trailer).
The boss was super happy about that.

Ahhh, the "good old days", aka, "The difference between Aikido and Tae Kwon Do".
I'm sorting through all the gis and belts for storage/giveaway/throwaway. I had two green belts. I was thinking, "Which is Impus Major's and which is mine?"
Then I found the blood stains on one of them.
"Oh, that one's mine..."

Will she at least be able to get out for a while and spend her last days well?
Don't know yet. Waiting for more word.
She's down in Texas while we're up here in Tennessee so there's a bit of news delay. My dad's older brother is the local contact.

"Any strange?" in Irish slang is just any news/stories/updates. Having looked up the American version, all y'all heads are in the gutters. :P

A good cry is what a body needs sometimes. Hope it helped you feel a little better.
Aye. Wasn't quite what I had intended to ask. :P
