Will you at least grieve for the naked otter?

I love effective project managers. We had one. He retired. Now we have a bunch of ineffective project managers.

I brought a couple of systems down during production hours yesterday because I was told that it was approved by the project manager.

It apparently wasn't approved.

I'm displeased, to say the least, with the ineffective project manager.

I'm pretty sure you mean "missed" as mist is a form of precipitation and doesn't belong in a sentence structure like that.

I'm pretty sure that Mist is German for manure.

But the otter was a huge fan of yours!

Afternoon FaWtLy-folk! Hope everyone is well and having a good day/week. Anyone who isn't, I hope things improve for ye real soon. *hugs*

I am fierce tired today.

Parenting:
My little one seems to be having difficulty adjusting since our move and he's up multiple times a night. I don't want to set the wrong precedent by letting him sleep with me, but I also don't want to be woken up multiple times a night with work in the morning. It feels like a catch 22. So far, I've been pushing ahead with the sending him back to bed every time version, in the eventual hope that he adjusts, but I am just so tired today.

He will adjust, or he will die.

By the way, I'm probably a terrible parent for younger children.

I'm curious to your meaning behind "Any strange?" Because it means something in American slang. For some people, granted, but there is a definite meaning.

Hi. everyone. Well, yesterday was interesting. It rained in Pittsburgh all day long. So, I spent my day off being cooped up inside. Yay?

I'm an old white heterosexual male. I have no idea what the heck you're saying here...

EDIT: After looking it up, LOLOL!!!! Apparently I am neither "old" nor "white" nor "heterosexual" enough.
Who knew?

Okay, the kids and I are supposed to be out the door in an hour to go pick up WW from work, the cargo area in the hatchback is completely crammed (tent, sleeping bags, cooler, dry food, camp kitchen, and WW's backpack) and there is absolutely no room back there for the kids and I to put any clothes of our own. Also, I still need to put together a few more food items, because 4 1/2 days for 4 people. And I still haven't had a shower today.
I think we're going to be late.

So MSN attacked me with an image of the seemingly new creatures I cannot stand from the new Dark Crystal movie. I did not punch the monitor. They seem a lot less uncanny valley than they did before due to new technology. Maybe I will check this out.

So, I was IM'ing GothBard about, "Any strange?", and she was telling me a story...
GothBard: So I was bundled up with my hood up and a glower on my face to dissuade the green vesters...
NobodysHome: Green vester?
GB: Oh, you blessedly ignorant troll!

So, looks like I need to update my profile page to include, "Blessedly Ignorant", 'cause I'm getting a lot of that today...

A person paid to collect for a charity. These guys.

Apparently they're really aggressive in San Francisco. Go figure.

Yeah normally my Google-fu is pretty adept but that one even had my skills stumped.

Safety pin a sign to your shirt reading "Does not carry cash". Bet they'd back off.

Still a bit emotional. I had a serious cry during the weekend, but sometimes you just need a good cry.

EDIT: After googling what 'strange' means in slang, no, no strange :P

In our Shiro campaign we're in the Darklands. As we entered our next den of obviously hostile, intelligent, and carnivorous beings (marked by skulls and bones), my gnome hung a sign around her neck that read (in Undercommon): "Not Food".

The scary thing was she had all the pieces she needed listed on her gear sheet...

First day back went well, we got about three times as much done as coworker thought we'd get done, even though I was taking it easy.

And we got a free picnic table for the shop, I didn't even have to lift a finger (I had a mini bobcat and a set of forks so I just picked it up and strapped it to the trailer).

The boss was super happy about that.

In the warning stickers on our mini bobcat they warn it might catapult you by having a picture of a stick figure being catapulted.

So I took a permanent marker and added long hair.

Ahhh, the "good old days", aka, "The difference between Aikido and Tae Kwon Do".

I'm sorting through all the gis and belts for storage/giveaway/throwaway. I had two green belts. I was thinking, "Which is Impus Major's and which is mine?"

Then I found the blood stains on one of them.

"Oh, that one's mine..."

Ugh. Sorry to hear that.

Will she at least be able to get out for a while and spend her last days well?

So sorry to hear that, Orthos. Hasn't been a good year for the FaWtL family, huh?

Don't know yet. Waiting for more word.

She's down in Texas while we're up here in Tennessee so there's a bit of news delay. My dad's older brother is the local contact.

The front end of the car is fixed, that's pretty sweet.

And I seem to be healing, so that's sweet, just gotta stay the course on that.

I also have to start taking a s#%@ load of pictures of Verona for Freehold (the cliche-ist of cliche Midwestern towns).

So, I'm hoping it will be a nice day.

Also, why is it you never run into people you haven't seen in a long time unless you have a noticable injury, so then you gotta explain THAT again (for the millionth time).

Now, if only I could taste coffee again.
