This guy has called me 4 times in the last 10 minutes to get directions to the hotel because he's on his way. Each time I've asked if he had a reservation, which he doesn't, and told him that we are sold out. Why is he still coming here? He's just gonna get here and then I'll tell him again that we are sold out. Ugh.

I always wanted to try to learn archery, for bragging rights, but the last time there were bows available to pull, I couldn't draw them ><
Str check epic fail?
Its like you have to keep your left inside elbow parallel to the bow string while holding the bow with your left paw, kinda weird positioning.
What about a crossbow?

This is really awkward. In trying to flesh out NPCs, I have inadvertently saddled them with harder difficulty then the AP actually has. Do I rewrite the NPCs or run on hard mode?
*Chants*
Hardmode!, Hardmode!, Hardmode!
OK I think I fixed it. You more or less got some recompense for it already. All the NPCs that had nothing to do with the great outdoors decided to take hobbies. And some of them are seriously hard-core.
Awwwww…
More seriously though, your a smarty kitty. I'm sure you have found a way that makes everyone happy. Tweaking things is a really hard thing not to do as a GMIt's almost midnight. I'm going home, soon. Good night, everyone.
P.S. I hear Vid walking down the hall. Quick! Everyone look busy! :D
Nighty Night!
*Looks Busy*
People that ban books are the sort of people you don't want to have that kind of power.

I have this bad habit of throwing adventuring levels out like candy. Seriously I gave a player's family in the campaign world PC levels.
The player said her sister was in the local militia. So that sister of hers ended up with ranger levels.
Then said her youngest sister was interested in magic. Poof celestial bloodline on that kid in question, and the local herbalist ended up training that kid. Herbalist had witch levels...
So yeah I really hand out adventuring levels like candy.

Sounds like adventuring in your world could be very dangerous to the wrong sort of character.
Rogue: I wanna rob that commoner. well unfortunately hes a 12 level cleric of Asmodeus. Save.

Well yeah one day I was in a bad mood the party tried to force some NPCs to help them by shooting one of them and yeah they turned out to be a bunch of very pissed off clerics.
But I don't let those NPCs interfere with party business generally.
What the rogue did would also piss me off, because I don't care for random cruelty to NPCs.

Slightly ghoulish ancetdote:
Did you know baby octopus tentacles twitch as you're barbecuing them? If you had an active imagination you could imagine them twitching, saying don't eat me...
But honestly I think it was due to the odd shape, but I couldn't get the centre fully cooked without the tentacles burnt to a crisp. I guess this isn't the first, nor the last time I'll have eaten raw octopus...

I thought that was just caused by action potentials firing. Although now that I think about it that was salt that made it do that...

At ye local oldie timey viking-medieval-renaissance smallish fair thingy.
Recreationalists all around.
Just had a battle for the local "castle". A lot of sweaty dudes involved, a few were mounted so a few sweaty horses too.
(gave one a nuzzle, and tried to make him drink from my water bottle)
But the weathers a killer today 34 degrees and little to no wind. Urgh...

What kind of bow are you using; classic or compound? Compounds are just as hard to draw, but once you've got the string drawn back it's easy to hold.
I love archery; I wish I had an easy means of practicing. Homunculi #1 likes it too, so it'd be a great bonding activity.
I learned archery from my dad, who is all about doing things your own way. So I shoot left-handed despite being a righty, never pulled a bowstring back with wrist facing outward, never learned other 'proper' tricks; but I've also never needed an armguard or other protective gear.

Interesting. Very interesting.
No injuries doing things this way?

No idea, it was sometime back at a fun fair.

Having shot a fair amount...
Recurves are the way to go, since they teach you to aim fast, which is not only possible, but better. (The sub-conscience mind is quite remarkable at complex math) and if you are over 13, any pull less than 30 or 40 is waste of time. 60 is a good weight if you work up to it, as that is the weight at which you could kill a deer.
100, while neat, isn't much practical any more, since no one needs to punch through full-plate armor.

Hmm. I just realized I time line screwed up a bit on my Ironfang invasion recruitment, because I thought this was the Pathfinder wiki but again I don't see it as a particularly big issue since I don't think the Ramsgate massacre appears in the other books much.
(Of course not by the sound of complaints in the recruitment thread), but me is *shrugs*
Again I spent more time fleshing out NPCs then reading the other volumes so...but yeah it's really NOT your magic mart. And maybe I should spend some time figuring out how long the AP would run for in Golarion time, but accounts seem to indicate 1-2 weeks per book, not even months.

Nope, no injuries. And in fact I've always had this impression that if you need an armguard, you must not only be self-injurious but a highly irregular shot as well -- as it seems like if the bowstring scrapes along your arm(guard) during the fire, it'll throw your arrow off-target. That's just my asssumption though, I could be totally wrong.
Not that I'm a great shot, myself. I had a couple of zen moments where I could almost feel the bullseye, but mostly I was no better than the next kid. And I haven't shot in decades, so I probably stink now.
Wow, didn't know that about recurves and human brains. It sounds like shooting is a don't-overthink-this thing?

Compound bows have wheels at the ends, and multiple bowstrings. Well technically it's all one bowstring, but looking at a pic it looks like several. Classic bows look like D&D bows.
