Cute girls, though.
A nationwide Swedish lottery where you subscribe to take part, and if they draw your postal code (postkod in Swedish), everyone in the neighbourhood who subscribes wins.
Then they go out and film when people get their prizes and show it on TV alongside a local variant of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire.

Of course, my hair is gloriously fake, and the public is more inclined to ROFL than persecute me. So where do we find out the results?
Mine is naturally red, but I do use chemicals to boost the redness a bit, I must admit. :) I'm also developing this cool little Rogue streak of white hair.
I've never faced any red-headed teasing of any sort. The closest is being called either Orphan Annie or Strawberry Shortcake a lot as a toddler.

This afternoon I have to make apple-cranberry stuffing and glazed butternut squash to reheat tomorrow as my contributions.
I started the turkey brining last night. I will turn it over tonight.
I also need to peel 5 lbs of potatos, 2 lbs of carrots, and I'm debating whether I do the apple crisp tonight or tomorrow morning. I think tonight is wiser, which means I also have to peel 3 lbs of apples.
that leave the baking of the turkey and making of gravy for tomorrow. I suppose you can include cooking and mashing the potatoes and cooking the carrots for tomorrow too, but those don't take too much.
...
I hope LPM knows how to carve a turkey. I just hack at the thing with a knife until I get the meat I want and call it good. @_@

:D That sounds really lovely. A ton of work, but really lovely.

I started last night with the pre-meal snacks,
still trying to actually clean the house before I can deal with all the nonsense I have to cook.
Why do they keep coming over to my house for the holidays?
Oh yeah, that's right. Because the wife likes having family over to our house for the holidays. :/
The good news, the father in law is bringing 2 smoked turkeys over for the meal (He never did figure out when too much is enough) :)
The bad news, they'll all expect me to cover most of the rest of the food. Despite the fact that were broke and the wife is out of a job right now. :(
Urgh, be thankful for what I DO have! :/
In case I get buried and forget to post this later,
Happy Thanksgiving every-FaWtL!
:D

I like hosting too. I wanted to cook the whole meal, but if I did that for just me, I'd be eating turkey until it turned green. Ugh. this way, I get to cook, and I don't have to eat it as leftovers for the next 3 months. :)
I really really wanted apple crisp. Not a pumpkin pie person. Hm. shoudl let them know that, in case they are, I suppose.

Dessert is a definite make-ahead. You don't want to be fussing with that tomorrow.

I have the apples, I just need the bear.
I've been told that there are bars in the West Village where bears tend to congregate. Perhaps I should start there.

I just threw in cheesecake 'pie' because over here it is usually cheesecake baked (or cold, depending upon recipe) into a graham cracker crust, usually in a pie tin. AND it's one of my wife's (And my) favorites. :)
Fruit pies are fine. Inquisition away!
:)
There have been a few (very few) Mince pies that I have found palatable.
The others are fine if you like them, but they are single-dish meals masquerading as PIES!
NOT to be confused with the sugary concoctions that are truly desserts!
(Which I am supposed to be making with sugar substitute, thanks to borderline diabetes.) :P
FIE I say! For holidays only the REAL DEAL will suffice! :D
