I must be getting old. I watch those 'adorable' flashmob videos set at airports and train stations, and all I can think is 'get outta my way, I got a plane/train to catch!'

Old, grumpy, and chilly!

Speaking of which, have you contacted <redacted> about <redacted>?

Yes. Yes I did. The person in question responded in a positive manner and suggested I send a brief write-up (perhaps a background and summary) regarding <redacted>. I'm hoping to send something within the next week.

You like big batches and you cannot lie?

Now I wonder if Mapperzombie takes requests.

As far as I know, he does, and the maps are well worth it. :D

Indeed. I do take requests on occasion. Zombie loves making maps.

So, is everybody off today or is it work as usual?

And naked, at that. :)

Scarab Sages

Visa and Mastercard accepted.

Scarab Sages

All right. Time for more coffee, then I might actually try and get something done. Although I'd rather be working on my birthday mead.

Work as usual for me, although I will be taking a break to pick up my son from college, since he has a three-day weekend.

One final note: I found a lovely email in my work Outlook today - they've decided to cut back any furlough days from 22 to 14! Huzzah! Another week of pay!

What is this "work" thing of which you speak? It sounds rather creepy.

Two, two, two nightmares in one in this week's Frightful Fridays!

EDIT: fixed link!

Hmmm, linky no work?

Bad request. Bad!

Work for me. Should be off tomorrow but that's from lack of work rather than holiday.

Morning.

First father wakes me up with a call responding to my sms about boots he bought in English Lidl that are probably cheaply available in local Lidl too. Ok, I should see that coming when I noticed that the sms was recved at 4 o'clock when father finished his night shift at work.

This disrupted my dream and made me forgot it.

Then I noticed that more snow has fallen.

The wet, muddy kind of snow.

At least my left tonsil hurts less. Time to bath it in hot tea.

Later I will have to dismantle my gas water heater, pick up the ruptured membrane take it to shop and get replacement. Thankfully the shop is two buildings away from me so it should be quick.

The thing where you swear at stupid colleagues and try to eat their brains. Whilst having to do everything for them.

Sometimes they pay you for it.

Good morning fawtls. Today is the first day of the rest of my life! Sorry to hear about your awful day, treppa. I hope it improves.

Eh, I just need more sleep is all. So far, it is not really that terrible. But I try to look on the bright side -- it could get worse!

Have you recovered from your temporary CHA dip, Freehold?

I shudder to think what you've been dipping your CHA in.

My..charisma has dipped? I guess that's one way to look at it.

I'm slowly recovering. I've not told anyone at work yet..or indeed anyone other than my wife and the LPM, who reached out to me personally to inquire, but I'm looking for a job to replace the day job. The time has finally come. My supervisor said some things day before yesterday that truly upset and offended me, and this, complied with some other things that have been going on in my life of late, have me ready to move on. I've applied for graduate school in the fall, and so I'm going to put that on my resume and use it to get a better job.

That's wonderful, Freehold! Best of luck on the job hunt and in grad school. Everyone needs a fresh start from time to time.

And the CHA dip was from when you said you couldn't seem to say anything right. It happens sometimes.

Good luck FH.

Dang, Freehold! It really sucks when your supervisor makes the environment hostile for you. Is this an HR-reportable offense? If your supervisor routinely violates EEO policy, then that should be noted by someone.

Unfortunately no. She toed the line a bit, but she was within her rights with the things she said- nothing EEOC worthy. I can say the workplace is hostile, but that would just be b%+%+ing on my part, although she DID admit to micromanaging me last year, which is something I suspected. I feel that I'm being singled out for things like cell phone usage, and that, coupled with my computer rarely working properly and the fact that I still run the most groups and although my caseload is on par with everyone else's, I feel I have the higher amount of..."problem" clients (truly, truly hate using that phrase, but it's true- my supervisor took people away from me and put on specifically her caseload that were easier to deal with or showed up more regularly and gave me people who never showed or were far more difficult under the auspices of the fact that I'm the only male in the office). It's bad and getting worse and I've got to make some decisions here.

OH! Well, yeah. It's still a bit on the low side. Trying to bounce back.

The problem with a manager like that is that they don't change. You're being set up to fail and there is no reason for her to stop. Take it from me, you need to think of yourself first and get out of there. Trying to be a good soldier will only wreck your career.

That's exactly what I said I felt like day before yesterday and she responded that if that was true, I would have been fired by now- she has enough on me to write me up if she wants. Some things I can see, other things are more petty. But you have a point. It's just not worth it anymore.

I did not know that there is Lidl in England and Poland

The membrane is not ruptured... Dammit. So now it's time to remove stone residue from the heater's pipes. Which means I have to buy stone-residue-removing liquid (ok, I have no idea how it is called in English and dictionary is not especially helpful here...). Meh.

More like hydrochloric acid sold in bottles with stone-removal instructions, actually.
